    Post Con Report

Another year, another Bronycon. I'm not sure anyone reads these, considering how long since I've updated, but here goes.

    It's that time again!

Yes folks, it's time for bronycon, and as a baltimore native, it behooves me to attend. No, not just attend, but work! I will be working as a liason for some of the panels, and spending my spare time in Quills and Sofas. Stop by and get your badge flag, I finally got them made. And if anyone wants to toss a donation my way...

    My tip jar

    Close Enough

Someone asked about art for what the ponies in the R4R universe look like. Well this is the closest I have been able to find!

    Another Bronycon, come and gone

Had a blast as usual. It was more fun then last year, despite having very few panels I actually wanted to attend. Instead, I attended more unofficial events, and was invited to far more parties. Dear lord, how did I wind up giving lessons on how to drink at a party? Hmm, I wonder if we could have a panel on that next year?:ajsmug:

What do you think? I am sorely tempted to take the story in this direction... Yes, I know I originally wanted to have no shipping, but this fits so damn perfectly into the dynamic of the Pinkie/Louis relationship, and the world I have created for them. However it would turn it from an episodic sitcom, which was my original intent, and morph it into a true story, with an overarching story arch. That would mean an eventual end to the story, and not the random skits I originally envisioned.

I am so torn. What do you guys think? Should I keep with the episodic sitcom format, or should I turn this into a true love story between worlds/species? I have already set the foundations for both, and with the help of some of the other writers that have contributed to the universe, set the stage for both a main story and spinoffs. I just don't know where I wanna go with this.

Then again, We are pretty fuckin drunk right now.:pinkiehappy:

Why not do both?:duck:

2023859 I wish it were so easy, but without invoking alternate realities/timelines, it would not work story-wise. So I either make some grand story, or make it a buncha one shot stories. I could do a big arc and then go back to episodic format, but the quintessential story would change. It would go from a buncha skits about Pinkie and Louis dealing with life, to stories about the couple dealing with things. It's a tough decision, and will change the flow and format drastically

You could do both. Not forever, of course, but random one-offs mixed into an ongoing story would work for a while. Or you could just keep writing the story as you are now until you begin to tire of it, then shift into a final arc to bring things to a close. It doesn't have to be strictly one thing or the other.

2024017 Or s/he could do both in an entirely different fashion, essentially creating two different stories. Like that thing Full Metal Alchemist did when they created 'Brotherhood'...

2024120
That could work as well but only if the author could keep the separate canons straight. An easy enough thing to do when you're merely reading the stories but not so much so when you're writing them. Especially when writing them simultaneously over the course of months (or longer).

2024127 One after the other? Naw...that'd be too complicated, and would probably irritate those who merely wanted a brief respite...How to do it, how to do it... Got any ideas, yourself?

2024134 Hmn...Well I've got a big one, but it doesn't have anything to do with my suggestion. M'fraid we'll have to leave well enough alone. I'm off to write dark, gritty, grimy, bloody poetry. Toodles~

Listen to your muse man. If you wanna write this story into a romance, go ahead. We believe in you!:yay:

Eh, keep up with the episodic stuff for now, but go ahead and write a chapter or two of the romance arc. Not for posting(well not yet, at least) but just to feel things out and see where your muse takes you. You'll probably have a bettter idea of where to go after that.

Either way I'll still be here reading it. You've woven a hell of a world together here, and given it some great faces to bring it to life, I'm sure it'll turn out great regardless of where it goes.

One last note, even after the end of the arc, if an idea pops up you can awlays write it out and wedge it into the pre-arc chapters, so there's that to keep in mind too.

I think you should do one on the 5 steps. I rather like the concept. And I do like how you write pinkie pie. So yeah, go for it. I would even proof read for ya bro.:pinkiehappy:

2030027 It's still up in the air at this point. I have two chapters left before I run out of sitcom ideas, so may finish those at least before I wind down with a romance arc. Then again, I may do like my DOTC story and make an alternate spinoff series. I dunno, haven't decided yet.:derpytongue2:

I DO need a damn editor though. I am almost done the next chapter, and it will definitely need another set of eyes, being heavy with Applejackanese, and some social commentary.:ajsmug:

2030174 I will edit for ya. But I usually edit if the chapter is finished.

I know I'm seriously late to the party on this one but you can actually do BOTH.

There have been plenty of sitcoms where two characters become a couple and their day to day lives bring on the comedy/drama.

If you want some ideas/methods on how to pull this off let me know and I'll throw a few your way.
