More about To Dance In Shadow (Spoilers) · 11:54am Apr 17th, 2014
Well, I did it. And I didn't hold back. I just let it all out, let pieces fall where they may, and tried to warn the readers what they were in for. I do not know the long term effects of what I have done though. Obviously, the darkness can't stop here, at this one chapter. I am in now, dedicated, riding the Fiendship Express into the bowels of Pony Hell. What has been released into story cannot be unreleased. You cannot unring a bell.
So, like it or not, Violet is in the story, the curious undead foal that lies caught between death and life, bound to Rookwood. And to some small extent, Luna. Violet was the messenger and the message. She gave her message to all those present, Celestia, Luna, Cadance, Twilight, the guard, and most importantly, Rookwood.
For those of you that are having trouble processing everything that has taken place, Nightmare Moon has corrupted the one thing that gave Rookwood strength, something his mind flashed to several times so he could endure his torture... His foal. Violet represents the very corruption of fatherhood, poisoning something simple, pure, and good. Rookwood and Violet shared an experience that will force them to bond. They are bound. There is no unseeing what had been done to Violet, and no escaping the ghoulish little foal's needs. With her every cry, with her pain, Rookwood is forced to endure what he witnessed over and over again. The fatherhood aspect is perhaps the most painful. Violet will be there when his own foal will be born, a terrible sibling that no foal would ever ask for.
Violet will also have a unique aspect that I will not reveal here, but I will promise you, it will soften the blow slightly, yet make everything even more bitter.
And now, now we begin the downward spiral.
Hm, I figured that Violet would just literally fall to pieces at the end of the last chapter and we'd see no more of her, but this idea is much better. Just make sure the mood of the story can still lighten up every now and again.
I will say this, Rookwood better have a strong soul, because monsters... no monsters wouldn't do that, neither would demons... well whatever Nightmare Moon is, things like her are creatures you need a strong soul and resolve to combat. And in this instance, love and tolerance need not apply. Well maybe love, but tolerance no

Nightmare Moon really is into a class of her own at this point. I like my villains scary. I need my villains scary. And now, Nightmare Moon is literally the stuff of nightmares, unreachable, untouchable, unstoppable.
And make no mistake, she will continue to rampage.

No such thing after all we are a species without magic and we have reached out and touched the stars, who's to say a species with magic can't doo more

Metaphorically. For now, she is a threat because she is unreachable. For now. That will change obviously.
I'm seriously considering quitting the reading of this story.
And taking back the favoriting/liking.

Aw, come on. What is that going to accomplish? Dark and tragic tags means dark and tragic content.

Yeah, the thing you forget that those weren't on completely in the beginning.
Also, the thing you just wrote in this blog post tells that everything will only get worse.
I see no reason for reading the story if the thing I do not want to read will happen. And it will happen.
2018702 Well I just said how I see it, after all one must look at the positive side while in a dark situation
