Sunset Shimmer's Villanious Portrayal in Heroes of Harmony · 7:30pm Apr 12th, 2014
So I'm sorta stuck in a dilemma here in regards to how I should portray Sunset Shimmer in my current Kung Fu Panda crossover. I already know what I want to do with her and everything, but I'm sorta caught in a paradox with her. On one end, I want her to be an epic villain for both franchises in her own right. One that requires the combined forces of Twilight Sparkle (plus Spike), the alternate versions of her Ponyville friends, Po, the Furious Five, and another character (whose identity for now is secret, but her importance in this story might even overshadow the rest) in order to defeat her. Yet at the same time, I want to some how make it possible for her to seek redemption/forgiveness (when the time comes), and make it believable.
I'm also wondering if I need to add other important villain characters [either from KFP, OC, etc] to make it more challenging for our heroes, and thereby even the odds, or to have Sunset (and her army) go up against them alone.
What do you all think?
I think ur on the right track. I seen both movies and secrets of the Five and masters. There may be a villain or villains to match up to shimmer.

Yeah, I already noticed there are some too. I'm just wondering if I should use them or not. The last crossover fanfic I read with Sunset joining another villain from a different world (Professor Ratigan), she got killed in the end by him!

Temutai- Ugh! I don't question the guy's toughness, or the fact he has an army of his own, but as far as his voice of obnoxiousness....
The Wu Sisters- Interesting. I just don't know how the relationship/partnership between them and Sunset would work (and whether they are still around).
OC- Most likely choice. I already I have some ideas, as well as a KFP version of a MLP character [not saying who though
]

Hi bud! How about after she's defeated you give her a scene similar to that where Lord Shen questions how he was defeated after everything he has done? But except of refusing the lesson and still trying to win, you give her a down-toned breakdown.
As for who could team-up with her? Well... (Link). It might work, or it might not.

Yeah, like you said: She would be a very real threat for most of the story and in the end she would have her chance for redemption, which she would take unlike the other two villains from the KFP movies. And the main reason I suggested the
FakeFive Elements is because:The Five Elements + Sunset Shimmer = 6
Twilight + Her alternate friends = 6
Po + The Furious Five = 6
The final battle would be a nice 2 on 1 per 6

. Master Lian and Ming-Yue for the side of Harmony; Shifu and another one for the warriors from the Valley of Peace and two more unknown characters for the baddies... perhaps the leader of the Crow Bandits could be one of the baddies wild cards?

I would count Shifu, the Celestial Sisters, and KFP versions of a few more MLP:FiM characters, as a separate group. I'll call it the Masters/Leaders group for now.
What I meant about the two mystery/wild cards was....you know what, if you don't mind spoilers, I can PM it to you (I wouldn't mind, since I'm so tired of waiting for myself to get to those parts, and I wanna share it with someone).

Hmm well friendship is magic after all regardless of the world your in. If Sunset can be reformed then there's no doubt Twilight and everyone can give her a second chance. Look at Discord, he's reformed and given Equestria Girls ending Sunset is on that path of redemption. Not to mention if the princesses are in the story there's no doubt Celestia would want Sunset redeemed rather than anything else happening to her given she was a previous student and had hoped she'd return to her rather than steal that crown meaning she had hope Sunset would want to learn the magic of friendship again and come back to her.

Yes, but I'm just wondering if the things I will have her do in this world/story will cross (what is known as) the Moral Event Horizon, or not. If so, will that cause a problem in making her redemption believable/ acceptable?

That's true. I just need to make sure it doesn't feel as forced or 180 as they did in the actual movie (or at least show why that happened, just like in the beginning of Long Road to Friendship by Albinocorn).
