I'm still working on chapter 2/3 on Rotten Apple, and I'm expecting it to come out really soon, almost certainly sometime this weekend. Probably today, even. But today, I have an idea that I've been hesitant to try for the past month or so, but now that I've seen at least three other authors give it a try with success, I figured I'd give it a shot, as well.
I want y'all to prompt me with a single, random word. Anything you can think of, so long as it is...
1.) A noun (not proper)
2.) It's not something sexual (e.g. ABIGBLACKDILDO lolololz)
Aaaand... that's it.
And if nobody ends up responding to this "challenge," which is always a possibility, then I'll probably just go to a random word generator and see what it comes up with. I'll then write the word prompt story from the list of word choices I'm given after I'm finished with Rotten Apple and the final chapters of Hoof Covers Bruise. So... it might be a little while.
Just thought I should step out of my comfort zone and give myself a challenge. Anyways, have at it, y'all!

It's a beautiful word when you get down to it, and I never really see it used very often (Excepting one time in a hastily thrown together existential crisis article I proofread for a magazine contest). I'd absolutely love to see how you handled it.

That's definitely a good 'un. I feel like I could make a pretty mean 'feels' fic out of it. Stuff dealing with the philosophy of the mind and the traits of conscious experience is always interesting material for that sort of thing.

Well, I became a fan of the show while season 3 was airing, but up until the beginning of this year, fanfiction just didn't appeal to me for some reason. But something about YLSYW just inspired me to give it a try. Sleepless in Ponyville's my favourite episode of the series, and I love both Scootaloo and Dashie, so they were probably big factors, and the concept of the story intrigued me.
One of the only MLP fanfics I'd heard of was Vinyl and Octavia University Days, so I read that after a good experience reading YLSYW. I've now been completely sucked into the world of fimfiction, and try to read as many stories as possible.

Don't worry, real life definitely comes 1st, got a lot on my plate at the moment :). Just got back from a mate's birthday party in fact. Long train journeys are the best time for reading. Besides, fanfiction is just one aspect of the fandom that I'm into, so that's even less time to read.
