Not that anypony ever bothers with these, so this is entirely for me to think aloud.
I've added a lot of content to Set In Stone. The chapters are going to be a little longer, a little more fleshed out, a bit more effort placed into them. What I'd like, if such a thing was possible, for this story to end up in the popular stories column on the front page. But let's face it, it probably wont happen. I'm not too bothered by that. It'll happen with some story, eventually. Maybe I should write more clop. That'd certainly get some attention.
Anyhoo...
For a long time, I entertained the notion of an ending for this that would drive everypony crazy. The Cutie Mark Crusaders try to get a time traveler cutie mark, and, to do so, they capture a cockatrice, go to some deep dark cave somewhere, and get turned to stone, three perfect cute little statues, never to be heard from again. A sort of dark twist to an otherwise predictable happy ending.
I scrapped the idea of course, but the idea stays with me. At some point, I will probably write a story where somepony intentionally gets turned to stone so they can time travel forward. I have a couple of time travel stories actually. I keep thinking about them, how to do them properly, which is no easy feat. Set in Stone is about accidental time travel... To do so intentionally changes the dynamic. To go backward in time requires a lot more thought, something I am not sure if I am skilled enough as a writer to tackle, but I might do it anyway. Gotta learn somehow, right?

On a side note, I'd love to help with a time travel sorta fic. It sounds like a lot of fun. That is, if you don't mind.

Maybe. Never done a collaboration before though.
Hammering out Set In Stone has made some of my time travel perspectives bloom a bit. Giving Sandow his points of view in contrast to everypony else has been a trial.
I've been reading about institutionalised prisoners in school, and the culture shock they get upon reentry, so that helps.
