Flying Without Wings is complete · 10:37pm Mar 6th, 2014
At long last, I've uploaded the very last chapter of Flying Without Wings and change the status from 'incomplete' to 'complete'. Just in time, as well- the contest ends tomorrow and judges tend to smile on finished works. This is by far my longest story at fourteen chapters, easily topping my last measly record of four, though I never meant for that story to be too long. I had a blast writing this. AppleDashLight is a lovely ship, although I might have been getting a bit eager to move onto the next thing near the end. But it's over now so it's time to put that one to the side and begin something new. I do, of course, have plans. Head on below to see what's next.
I haven't yet pulled myself out of the pit of contests I'm constantly digging myself into (I do love contests) but with Flying Without Wings down I can move onto another. This one is for RariTwi, a little seen and little loved ship. It's a shame, really. I myself am a happy shipper of it, though I'm a happy shipper of most ships, but that's not the point. Either way, I'm throwing my hat into this contest and I can't wait to get started. Although I don't want to give away too much before it's posted, I can tell you that it heavily involves dreams and RariTwi shipping. Also, I think I'm going to go about writing this one differently from my normal style. I tend to do very short chapters (some of them dipped below a thousand) giving little blasts of story. I plan on doing them a lot longer, though still short compared to most other authors. It should be about double the normal length with more content. Hopefully that shall be enjoyable.
Next up is another SpikeDash one-shot for the newest SpikeDash contest (yes, more contests). My first SpikeDash story is by far my most popular, though Flying Without Wings is starting to come close. This might mean I'm good at writing the ship. Or I was just lucky. Probably the latter. Either way, you can expect a cutesy little one-shot out sometime after the RariTwi.
Following that shall be the criminally unappreciated RariDash. The deadline for this one is a ways off (May) so I've put it till last though I have no doubt I'll have to hurry by the time I get through the other two. I'm struggling a bit with a narrow prompt, but I'm hoping once I get to it I'll have a solid idea to put down onto paper. Or a computer document.
And then we have a story that isn't for a contest. Yet again, I am writing the SpikeDash. But this isn't for a competition. No, Loyalty is the sequel to my most popular story, A Gentledrake and His Lady, by request. I have a lot of ideas for this one, focusing on Spike's internal struggle with remaining feelings for Rarity while dating Rainbow Dash.
So that's what you have to look forwards to (or dread). Bye!
I bookmarked this story simply because it seemed interesting and because you have been so nice to me the least I can do is put this story on my to read list for later. Have you noticed that people tend to the rush the final product of things during contests? I've only entered one and I didn't finish my entry on time, but I am purposely planing ahead for the Rare/Dash one. I already have the ending sketched out, so it's not like I don't know where I can drop it.
I haven't actively dived into AppleDashLight other then Tchenobrog's - I always butcher his name - stuff and it's pretty interesting. I got myself into it by writing them together in my own work. I'm not sure I'm fully up for an open couple like that, as I've seen those kind of couples fall apart so easily, but they are a blast to write together.
Rare/Twi I haven't actively looked into either, even though I wrote a story attempting to cover it! Though that too is an awesome ship.
I do recommend longer chapters. I think shorter chapters just tend not to do a story justice. Give us meat! We like meat! I've heard that horse meat is pretty damn tasty. I'm ADHD as fuck.
SpikeDash. I've heard of this thing, though I wonder how in the world people got into that. Silly people.
I like opening up the field and letting us do what we wish. Heck I like... writing. Period. I'm rambling.
I like you. Hugs. Rare/Dash is awesome. Damn Razed.

Heh, I do tend to ship lot of things. I'm open for pretty much anything, though I'm very partial to ones involving Rainbow Dash. #Best Pony. And of course AppleDashLight is good, since it's involves AppleDash. And TwiJack and TwiDash are cute as well. So overall, a good ship.
I do like RariTwi. Unfortunately, it's one of those very unappreciated ships, though I think it works very well. It's rather like TwiJack, which has been getting a bit more shine lately, in that they're two very level-headed mares (most of the time. Both have been known to have great panic attacks) with quite different ways of life and hobbies. Hopefully this means it to shall get it's turn in the spotlight at some point.
SpikeDash does seem a little odd at first glance, that I will admit. But once you look a little further, you'll see that they really do work well together. It's awesome. I think there was a person call majong that got banned that apparently wrote lots of quality SpikeDash pieces that truly gave the ship the bit of light it needed to grow. If you ever decide to try it out, I recommend looking up some of his stories.
And yes. RariDash is very awesome.
