Trying to decide what to do next · 7:30pm Feb 17th, 2014
So it's a rule of thumb that when I finish a chapter of one story, I can't keep going with it, because if I did, I'd end up microfocusing on that one story and losing all the others. So as much as I'd like to work on Elements of Opposition, I have to shift gears.
I have a number of fics that are in progress to work on and I'm trying to decide what to shift to.
Ones I am not going to do:
Tale of the Terrible Doctor Twilight: I'm on the inner story now, and torn as to how much detail I want to go into with it, so since I haven't decided, I'm not working on this
God of Breaking Rules: a, no one cares, and b, my head needs to be in a particular place to work on something like a myth
Be Discreet: can't get my head into teenage relationship drama right now
So my options are:
King Who Would Be Man: I have been largely ignoring the Discord-as-Q universe in favor of the stuff based off Last Draconequus; maybe it is time to go back to this for a chapter
Stumble In My Footsteps: My kids really want me to write this one
Love, Friendship and Chaos: Satisfies my desire to watch Discord suffer while still being lighthearted and funny about it, unlike Elements which is gut-wrenching
Awkward Conversations: Because Discord and Pinkie Pie are fun to watch bounce off each other
Last Draconequus: On the one hand, this has become surprisingly popular lately; on the other, the next chapter is heartbreaking and I don't know if I want to do it right now
or, things that are not currently in progress:
World without Harmony: Tie-in to Elements of Opposition, and about the only thing I'm doing that lets me write Discord as a villain, this is the backstory behind the Opposition universe and how it got that way
unknown title: Cheese Sandwich and Discord have a conversation in a saloon, in a parody of a Western - this should be a oneshot, and is pretty much pure humor
I think that with so many unfinished fics out there I shouldn't start up something new, so probably not going to do World Without Harmony or the Cheese Sandwich one (on the other hand, Cheese Sandwich is a one-shot and I have a dearth of those lately). So I thought I'd toss this out to the few people who bother to read this thing and ask if anyone has any opinions. I'm ambivalent enough that getting an opinion from a reader might sway me in one direction or another.
Awkward Conversations for the win. I'm on absolute tenterhooks for more of that.
I'm voting for any of these three. I'm especially eager to see Cheese Sandwich used more in his own right, not just as date-bait for Pinkie. He's one of the newest characters that I'm genuinely eager to see more of. I think he has a lot of story potential, especially with a variety of former antagonists and supporting characters.
Stumble in my footsteps. ( is choco a ponified discord or a male pinkie? Is eris a female discord or a dracoganous pinkie?) I thought that eris was female discord but the info says that the dracoganous is pink

Well, the description says the characters are not OCs or genderswaps. Eris is a draconequus with a pinky, curly, poofy mane. Choco Pie is an Earth pony who likes chocolate and explosions, has a sarcastic and even somewhat mean sense of humor that he's been trying to tone down because he's in love with Fluttershy, and is very clever but chronically disorganized to the point where he can't actually get much of anything done without the help of better organized ponies to help him carry out his plans, because he has a hard time with clocks, lists, and calendars. So... you do the math. :-)
