So, I've decided to keep Trixie in the Core 7 of the Justice League.
Why? because 1) I want to explore some aspects of Trixie's character (part of it being that she doesn't really see somepony like her being hero material) and 2) I thought of a story where Twilight/Doctor Fate gets flung into another dimension during Darkseid's invasion and battles demons and eldritch horrors in order to get back home.
How's that sound?

I don't see how trixie would stand any chance against darkseid a forces so I don't think she would work as a superhero

Twilight as dr fate would be a better choice and maybe trixie can be an honorary member as twilights sidekick
I still say you should have gone with both, but I'm sure it will be good anyways.
1803231 Don't forget she got that power boost from Zod during Mare of Steel. And it's not like she has to be as powerful as Supermare or Dr. Fate/Twilight; Zatanna, like Trixie, seems to rely less on power and more on versatility, and she's been a respected member of the League for decades.

1803231 The thing with Zatanna, as others have said, is not her strength but her versatility; she might not be able to bodycheck a bad guy through a mountain, but she could, say, turn a bunch of mooks into doves so those that can bodycheck a bad guy have a clear opening (she did something similar in the finale of Justice League Unlimited against Darkseid's Parademons, and she helped Batman against Circe in "This Little Piggy" by holding off and magicking a bunch of transmogrified goons)
Even with Zod-induced power boost, Trixie is still not on Twilight's level. However, she still has a wide variety of weaker spells that she regularly puts to use (we've even seen this a bit in canon), whereas we don't really see Twilight using anything but a few really powerful spells (such as her beam attacks and teleportation), and the other spells she only really uses once or twice before she moves on to the next spell (although I could be over exaggerating that last bit
)
Sounds good, both from the pony angle and the DC angle. So you're planning on doing a Dr. Fate solo story, eh? DC has a lot of mystical characters that you can use, but it won't be easy. God's blessings on your story!
1803479 Maybe a bit of exaggeration. Still, the general point stands. That reminds me; is Supermare vulnerable to magic like Superman is? I can't remember.
1803480 For the Doctor Fate solo story, I'm going to be using a mix of DC characters and delve into some of the other avenues that pony writers take (such as demonizing many G1 villains)

Hmm, well, I suppose from a balance perspective, that sits just fine. Not to mention the redemption angle makes for a much more compelling character in a team that had previous experience with her.
Still, if you're gonna send fate to battle demons, you better make them mystical challenges like how in Marvel Dr. Strange has to battle the horrors every tuesday. Maybe she can encounter the first of her rivals in the lords of chaos? Or maybe a cosmic horror like that monster that was in JLU?
