As a first note: sorry if you saw this post without any content in it for a split second. It was a mistake that shall be remedied now.
Anywho, lets get down to business. First, I'll just mention that classes have indeed started for me this week, and so far, I can already tell that this semester is going to be a bear when it comes to work. I surprisingly like all of my professors, but due to the amount of work they're already giving out, I'm struggling to find time to write this new chapter. But what else is new, amiright?
But that's not the worst news...
My next chapter for Hoof Covers Bruise is going... slowly. Like, painfully slow. Writer's block is inexplicably creeping back up on me, and I'm finding it increasingly difficult to continue writing the chapter at this time. As such... I'm thinking of taking a break from it to start work on a oneshot.

Yeah, I know. But don't worry! I have just under 4000 words written down, and they're not too shabby. It's just that... and let me give you a bit of a heads up and say that this is going to sound rather whiny, but writing HCB is starting to feel like... work. And not just "work," but like, painstakingly unpleasant work. Like I'm pulling my fingernails off one by one with each key I type. I know I should probably just man-up and put on my big boy pants or whatever, but to be honest... I'm on here to write fanfics because I enjoy doing it. And right now, writing HCB is just... not fun. At ALL. *ttly nt whinin liek a btch rt nw*
Now, if this were a story I was submitting for a Writer's Market contest, or something school-related with a due date, I'd still be trying to write it, no matter how much I'd hate the process. But the way things are going currently... I don't want to continue working on HCB for the time being. It just feels like yet more work to stick into some of the free time I have from classes and Muay Thai and running and... bleghfcknafjepokfporkgijr.
But one thing I'm just beginning to understand is that, when you have "writer's block," the absolute LAST thing you want to do is stop writing altogether. As such, I'm going to start work on a new oneshot story in my free time that will hopefully NOT feel like I'm slowly peeling the skin off of my toes with a scalpel when I'm writing it. And never fear; HCB is NOT going to die. I'll put on my big boy pants in the near future and start work on it again, and you all are gonna be like, "Oh my goodness, I'm SOOOOO glad this was worth the ridiculously long wait! I'll totally never hate Arwhale for being inconsistent as balls with all of his updates and constantly breaking his promises like a total asshole!" and we'll all live happily ever after.
I hope.
And as for this new story... it may or may not be the mature rated Rarity and Fancypants story I mentioned awhile back. May or may not. ;)
