[Reversal of Fortune] I Think I've Made a Mistake... · 8:43am Jan 7th, 2014
I just re-read the prologue chapter.
Now I realize why you guys latched onto this. It's really good. I don't want to sound egotistical or anything, but this is the best writing I think I've ever done. I really do think it's quite exceptional, especially when compared to my first attempt at fiction in my other story, Ungrounded.
But that also means something else. I set the bar impossibly high for this fic. I'm not sure how I can top all that writing. And I see my feelings reflected in the comments for chapter one. Many of you commented something along the lines of "it's alright" and things like that. Now I fear that's how you'll feel about the rest of the story. I don't know if I can top what I did at first.
But I'll try.
I'll try my hardest, and if I don't come out above where I started, then that's all fine. I find comfort in the fact that what I'm writing now is far above what I used to write. This story will not be a waste if it doesn't turn out as fantastic as I hope. "Time you enjoyed wasting was not time wasted at all."
And so for actual news toward the story:
The end is both close and far away. This statement is true, but also false. I don't plan on having Reversal going beyond 12 chapters. But it will feel long, each chapter numbering around 8,000 words. This story will move quickly, as will the time in the story. Each chapter will come out to be about a day or so in Equestria.
And I'm sorry for the amount of time between updates. Having two adventure fics at the same time was a mistake, and I don't recommend doing it if you have a life outside of this website. Each fic demands so much, and I don't always have the time to devote to each.
So wish me Luck.
im sorry i did not relise that 12 chapters of 8000+ spread out over time constituted a bad thing

I didn't. I just get the feeling that people would question it. Things like "this should be longer," and "why is it so short? This is an adventure fic and a Fallout crossover."
One step at a time, buddy. Take it easy. If the story is this good, it's gonna write itself in your head. Just don't force the plot, let it click together in your head and write it down once that's done.
Sure, it might take longer to update, but that's the price one pays for writing well.
Ahahah I see what you did here.

That's my biggest problem. I'm so excited to be writing this story, I don't know if I can take my time. Maybe slowing down is a better solution. And I gotta say, your avatar pic is awesome.

I thought it was funny. I'm glad you thought it was funny.
