Chapter 2 up of All the Way Back · 8:45pm Jan 5th, 2014
Just put up chapter 2, "Fledging," of my Luna-centered fic All the Way Back. In this chapter, Luna makes a major step toward her physical and psychological recovery. I also get to show her utterly lost when dealing with normal, softer emotions, and utterly in her element as she prepares for the possibility of bloody internecine war.
She's not all the way back yet, far from it. For one thing, she's a lot gloomier and grimmer than she used to be (remember, she was Laughter). But give her time.
Incidentally, I was listening to the theme from Space Battleship Yamato as I wrote that last scene. Just thinking -- that's an anime which Luna would completely, utterly and instinctively understand. Especially its intense focus on duty and honor, and even the part about something old and apparently outdated playing a crucial role in the crisis.
I love this character. Do I make it too obvious?
