    Life update n all that

It’s been a while since I’ve posted here, not that anyone reads these anyway. My current story hasn’t been updated for a long time so I’ll try to return to writing it and ideally finish it this year.

    Cocaine kinda sucks

So I hooked up with this girl at her place and we did coke. And it had absolutely no effect on me, much to my chagrin. I was really looking forward to it.

    On the Ukraine situation

I'm writing this short blog post in an attempt to solidify my understanding of the Ukraine-vs-Russia conflict, because writing things down usually helps with your thought process. I'm also writing this in case anyone is confused about the situation and wants to know what's going on. I might get something wrong, and if that's the case, feel free to correct me.

Apropos of the Sinners – Update 16

I finally got a new chapter out, after over a year of hiatus.

Truth to tell, I have no idea when I'll finish this story. Could be a year. Could be five years. Or ten years. Who's to say? I can no longer make any promises. There's still a lot of ground to cover and I'm nowhere near finished, plus I'm busy with real life.

Dear SpitFlame: How did you become the author you are today?

-thunder_strings

This a very good question with a complicated answer. I joined this site August 11, 2013 and started writing August 13, 2013. The first fic I ever wrote was a "the last of us" crossover called "Last of Equestria". It was really bad so I deleted it after cancelling it for a few days. Back then I was a pretty terrible author. I never really did well to be honest. Now this raises an obvious question: If you sucked in the past, how do you write stories now and get tons of positive feedback?

Back then I was bad because I never really did well in English class, only getting 60s which is barely passing. I also didn't read much. Once I joined the site and saw how much I sucked, I realized I needed to force myself into becoming better.

I started off by reading great fanfics like Anthropology, Past Sins, My Little Dashie and other stuff I'm not gonna mention. With the help of my sister, I also started to read many books, ranging from "The catcher in the rye" to "The Hobbit" and other novels. I even rent books from my school to read at my house. So when I'm not on Fimfiction, I'm usually doing homework, playing video games or reading. I also tried really hard in English class and passed with a 91, and I'm still on that roll. I also got help from other authors to show me good literary techniques. Also, make sure to read FAQ.

So after those few months of practicing, I came back and wrote new stories ranging from "Elements of Honor" to "127 Pets". As you can see, anyone can become a good author no matter how bad they seem in the beginning. Please don't doubt yourself; just read a lot of books and find help. I improved in a matter of months. So I plan to be a legit writer when I'm older. Keep writing everyone, keep being awesome. After all, an author only improves by gaining constructive criticism from his fans.

So I really enjoyed answering this question. I usually swear and try to be funny in my other blogs, but this was serious. Keep being authors and readers everyone!

Got anymore questions? Please PM me and I'll answer them here, on "Dear SpitFlame".

See you next time, Bye!
