Hey everyone! Hope you all had a Merry Christmas this year and got to spend some quality time with your friends and family.
I know a few of you were hoping for an update to the story as a sort of Christmas gift, and honestly, I was really considering it! But while I'm confident with where the chapter is going now (after two or three rewrites :/, which you'll probably get to see on my DA page as compensation), there was no way I was going to finish it and have the editors look at it in time for the holiday.
So I thought about doing a holiday one-shot about Mort during Hearth's Warming Eve, thinking I could get that up in time, but... no :( I started on it last week, but things like work and the actual holiday prevented me from doing so. I was hoping to get it all done on the days I had off, but it would've meant staying in a room the entire time to get it done. It's not the sort of thing you do during the holidays. You've got to prioritize your family, especially when you don't live near them like I do, or when they're relying on you to help pick up family and get everything set up.
So... yeah, I still want to finish the holiday one-shot, as well as the next chapter. The former will definitely be out before the latter, but I'm hoping to make progress on both of them on my next days off.

take your time and make it good, dude. I'm prepared to read every single draft of this chapter. Don't care how long it takes, just deliver. I hope you know this is the best fic on the site, and this is why.
When YOU write, you don't just go, "good 'nuff" and post a sub-par chapter. Anyone with half a brain should respect that and will leave you alone. I mean, come on, 3 rewrites? that's dedication right there.
