I have some ideas, advice and opinions? · 8:45pm Dec 16th, 2013
At the moment, I have an issue that I'm sure at least some of us writers have encountered once in a while: having a lot of story ideas that you really want to do, and you feel would be good, but you can't really pick which one to do, especially if more than one is a really developed idea.
So, I wanted your opinions on these (there's more, but these are the ones I really feel like doing at the moment):
1. My Freckles Went Missing! (and Other Disasters)
Genre: Comedy/Random
Main characters: Mane Cast, basically everyone
Basic plot: Crazy mishaps happen to the characters, based on the various bloopers in episodes (i.e. the Everything Wrong With... videos and My Little Bloopers: Mistakes are Forever vids). Including AJs freckles repeatedly missing, background clones, and several ponies looking strange.
2. Haughty of Heart (I have a cover art for this one, though I may change the font)
Genre: Dark/AU
Main characters: Twilight, Mane Cast, Celestia, Luna
Basic plot: When Twilight considers the possibility of every possible universe and possibility existing, she uses a spell from the Canterlot Archives to test it out. Being able to see into some of the worlds she creates, she at first just experiments with possibilities, and at first becomes terrified of her power. When the spell goes awry, she soon becomes disillusioned and develops a god complex. Loosely inspired by Death Note, the quote at the top of the A God Am I page on TV Tropes, and my own theories about alternate universes.
3. Properly Proposed
Genre: Romance/Adventure
Main characters: Daring Do, Ahuizotl
Basic plot: A DarZotl shipfic where Daring sends Ahuzotl onto an adventure quest for an artifact that turns out to be a proposal plot
4. Solipsism ( cover art for this too)
Genre: Sad/Dark/AU
Main characters: Twilight, Mane Cast, Celestia, Discord
Basic plot: Twilight learns that her entire life as she knows it has been a simulation, and she is in fact a constructed draconeqqus-like creature named Asteria who has spent much of her real life living simulated lives. However, Twilight has fallen so far into the recent one that all memories of her true life have vanished, and she attempts to create conditions in simulated lives that can replicate the false life she doesn't want to let go of.
I'd be most interested in reading number two. Depending on all the additional info, four could also be pretty impressive. Everything Twilight thought she knew, friends and family, all a lie...
But, God-Complex Twilight is best Twilight. Then again, Empress Twilight will be pretty similiar and it might be best to do something completely different...
Anyway, go even numbered.
The one I personally like the sound of the most is Solipsism, followed by Haughty of Heart, although I do have a general preference on Dark/Tragedy/Sad stories.
Two or three. Twilight with a god complex is the best Twilight, and Daring Do... Well, she's Daring Do
Hmm... honestly all of your ideas sound great. I'm having a hard time deciding what you story you should focus on. I'd like to see how you'd do writing the first one... I mean when we RP, you're hilarious.
Of course I remember Solipsism and I loved it. I just don't know!
Here's the real question, which story ideas do you like the most?
Pretty much everything that Kaidan said. DO 2 AND 4.
Personally, I'd want to see Haughty of the Heart, but Solipsism takes a close second. Kaidan is right, God-Complex Twilight is best Twilight.
I would say 4 or 2. I always enjoy a good adventure and those ideas, well now you make me curious as to what would happen.
If I had to choose one, it would be 4. Something about simulation just sounds interesting to me.

Put the ideas on post-it notes and stick them to the wall in a cluster. Then toss a dart from across the room, and write about whatever it hits. If you find that the idea the dart landed on is a slight disappointment, then that means you actually wanted to write on one of the other ideas. Pull that note down and set it aside, and toss the dart again. If you don't have darts, then use an internet random number generator instead.
1615321 As far as Empress Twilight and God-Complex Twilight having similarities (which I won't deny there) there is a key difference I see between them: Empress Twilight does what she does out of a desire for justice and eternal harmony, using the knowledge she's gained over time to accomplish that and do what she believes is best. God-Complex Twilight, however, does what she does because of the potential and possibility that comes along with it. To put their motives in a nutshell: Empress wants harmony, GC wants knowledge.
Glad you like 2 and 4 best though—writing Twilight in different viewpoints is fun.
Number 1 was a result of too much EverythingWrong With video-watching though.
And wow... I just realized that all my story ideas primarily involving Twilight involve either something bad happening to her or because of her.

My vote definitely goes to 4, with 2 being a close second. The description of 4 literally gave me chills, and I feel like it could be a very interesting and fun (In a twisted sort of way) read.
