The 'Pages Of Harmony' Ask Blogs · 12:06am Dec 15th, 2013

Recently, me and a few others, namely Shadowed Rainbow, Derpy Defense Force and Cookie Thief, have started writing a set of ask blogs on Tumblr for Shadowed Rainbow's amazing grimdark fic, Pages of Harmony. I would recommend reading the fic first, due to some

Glad to hear that there will be more to come from you, and I wouldn't worry about not having many stories on the site yet, everyone has to start somewhere and I'd take quality over quantity any day.

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts about it. I'm very glad that it worked so well for you. Sadly, I don't have that many stories published on Fimfiction so far. I really should work harder on my writing, seeing as people seem to like it. You can safely expect more stories from me in the future.

I'm sure it won't be dissapointing if What is Left is anything to go by, and I'd be happy to give you some feedback.

I enjoyed the characterisation, with Sweetie futily trying to go back to the life she had when she was young, and going back to the dust at the end despite trying to get away from it for tge ahole story so she can remember the past, Rarity wanting to get out of a world where everything has fallen apart, and that despite Chuck-Chuck getting angrier and angrier at Sweetie he doesn't try to kill her until she runs out of time to pay off the debt, which makes sense seeing as a debt collectors job is to actually get the money where possible, which would be hard to do if he killed them when they tried to get out of it without giving them a fair cance to pay up first. I also liked how both held on to memories, Sweetie through the dust and Rarity through the flowers.

I found the flowers them selves to serve an interesting parallel to the sisters, two heads on the flower, each unable to survive without the other, capable of both taking and saving lives. Similarly, the sisters seperated, and both of their lives fell apart, eventually having one of them die to the poison while the other gets the antidote, but with Rarity gone Sweetie just gives up on fighting and goes back to surrounding herself in memories of better times with the help of dust.

I also felt the story was well paced, at no point did I feel you were rushing through things or that things were dragging on, and I felt that it was made clear enough that the gathering was a funeral and that Rarity didnt actually ahve the money without hitting the reader with it and thus making it unbelieveable that Sweetie wouldn't have noticed. The one thing I did find slightly dubious was Chuck-Chuck having a burning building dropped on him and managing to avoid even being hospitalized, but I didn't find it completely unbelievable, especially given that this isn't a regular person but a bulky magical horse who could easibly be much more durable.

Hope that helps! :twilightsheepish: If you want me to elaborate or clarify anything, or ask about something I didn't mention feel free and I'll do my best to answer.

I did indeed enjoy it! I suspect I will also enjoy your other stories when I get around to reading them, so thanks for writing them. I expect I will probably end up following you if your otherbstpries are just as enjoyable.
