So I had an Idea.

Okay, so Twilight is a Princess Right? Well, what if, a few hundred years later, her and Celestia alternate who run Day Court so one pony doesn't have to do all the work. Twilight however, isn't as wise as Celestia and can't stand the Nobles. She asks Celestia to knock those arrogant pricks down a level so they stop pestering them with completely retarded requests. Celestia declines saying how she doesn't want to seem like a tyrant. Twilight was never mentally stable as a pony, so after a few more years of this, so goes to Discord with an idea. A world changing idea.

Fed up, Twilight suggests to Discord a change needs to occur that will grant her the power to own the nobles removing them from the postions in which they can ruin ponies' lives because they are extremely selfish 90% of the time. Because Fancy Pants is best noble. He is the only exception. Just saying.... Anyway! Twilight goes batshit insane, and 'politely requests Celestia go on a vacation somewhere' Not the moon, or Sun. But, everypony else doesn't know that.... After a quick little illusion placed by Luna who can't stand the fuckers anymore than Twilight can, a Twilight Version of Nightmare Moon takes over. Change occurs. I'm not 100% where else I'd go with that. Or if that's how'd it'd start.

I love the idea! One of my favorite fanfic tropes is having Princess Twilight dealing with equestrian politics, and how she deals with the greedy and snobbish nobles. Throw in some griffon and minotaur conflicts in the borders, and then I would devour the story!

The transformation to Nightmare Twilight would need to be carefully executed though, because I simply cannot see the bookworm princess being evil. She needs to have something really bad happen to her to lose her mind, like having a noble or foreign diplomat backstabbing her (in the figurative sense) or something like that. Then, put her in a official royal gala with lots of important ponies and diplomats, then make her snap because of that happens there, as she starts her descent into madness!

I love the idea, and I would love to read your story!
