Huzzah for the Holidays! · 10:40pm Dec 11th, 2013
Ahhh, the holidays. Classes and exams are over, I'm free from medical treatments (for now), and I finally get to go on vacation. Hopefully during this time (and when I come back) I can get some writing and editing done.
For those of you following Through Crimson Eyes, while I technically am on hiatus from it at the moment, it's really more because I'm taking the process a little more slowly to make sure everything fits properly. There won't be any updates on it for a bit, but I'm definitely still working on it. I've just been having a little trouble with upcoming transitions and stuff like that.
I'm also currently working on a collaboration project with Anonymoose, who was recently featured for My Daughter the Teenage Changeling. We're hoping that it will promise to be a fun read, but it probably won't be out for a while, as I tend to be a slow writer and he is incredibly busy. See here for a preview of the first chapter, written by Anonymoose.
At the same time, I have practically a full story's worth of editing to do for Shahrazad, who has the patience of a saint. I'm hoping I can get most if not all of that done soon (this is now in progress— much easier to do when working simultaneously).
I just finished a one-shot that's serving as a prequel to Through Crimson Eyes (inspired by a piece of art done for me that will serve as the cover photo, it's like a day-in-the-life kind of thing before the big C hit). I'm thinking that some of the ideas in this prequel may appear in the later chapters of TCE, but I'm not 100% sure yet. I'm hoping I can get away with adding things in later chapters that didn't necessarily need to be in earlier ones, but they might require reading the prequel... It's fairly short, so if you're enjoying TCE, hopefully you won't mind reading a little back story. Some of it is inspired by the addition of the cover artist's OC, which may really end up helping me. Aside from giving me a little boost with TCE, it might also help me avoid those random bouts of writer's block, and give me something to look back to for an idea.
I was also working on another one-shot, but have put that on the back burner for now (See reasoning here if you like).
So that's the deal for now. Until next time...
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
