My apologies · 7:00pm Oct 28th, 2013
I go around and favorite new stories. That's a fact. And I also go around and occasionally fav a story that has higher dislikes than likes or receives negative comments, then people come here happily thinking I liked their story. Well... That's a lie, I don't actually have a opinion about your story.
Don't get me wrong, I do read fics and often enjoy them, but most of the time I'm trying to hit that star in the right-hand corner with as many stories as possible.
But, when people come here to thank me, a user made me realized that they weren't doing that it because of a simple favorite. They do it because they think I'm praising their work. That I actually read their story and liked it. When it turns out I'm didn't? It hurts people to be treated with a false sense of achievement for the effort on their part. It hurts me as well, knowing that I'm being dishonest to others.
No... The hundreds of little ponies I lied to...
I'm sorry everyone, I didn't mean to cause harm. I'll stop favoriting at the new stories, and will give reviews to anyone's story that I favorited. Okay, that's all.
Feet. You disappoint me. For shame...Not really. Personally, I bet some people aren't aware that faving is one of the few ways to keep track of updates. Sometimes I find a story that I really liked...then I stopped liking it, but I forgot to take it out of favorites, or I favorite prematurely. I don't know...I guess it doesn't exactly matter that much...It's still nice to receive that fave even if they didn't deserve it.

You are the second person who said that! I knew it, I AM a failure!
1462170 ....NO! I MEANT THAT IN A SARCASTIC SENSE! DON'T GO FEET! DON'T GO!
Hey, 'sfine. I don't remember whether or not you commented on my story, but I don't really care if you didn't. 'Tis not a big deal.
WAT.
I am seriously confused

The favorite button is a star... does that help?

Yes, I know how it works, I just don't understand favoriting as many fics as humanly possible :-/

I felt like doing it one day. I thought that author's should have at least one favorite for writing their stories, that my favorite means to them that their work is being acknowledged in some way.
But then, someone told me that what I was doing may have done more harm than good, so I stopped. I realized that I might as well have been lying to people.

more than that, wouldn't you get spammed with an insane amount of notifications, effectively rendering your account useless? :-/
