This is definitely a bad thing · 9:44pm Oct 9th, 2013
I keep updating TSFS four chapters at once, because of a lot of silly reasons that mostly deal with symbolysm and the fact that I can move the plot a lot like that (and it's far more comfortable than just writing one single huge chapter)... but Fimfiction immediately features the story every time I do that, even though it shouldn't. It happened just now, again.
I'm pretty sure that's a bug, and a serious one. I tried contacted Knightly but it didn't work, so... yeah. I hope I don't get in trouble.
Oh, also I've posted a new story on the site. It's very long. Every chapter is at least 15k. Read at your own risk.
PSST. The last three spots on the Feature queue are for updated past stories. Every time a past feature gets updated, it gets set to the 'top' updated spot (spot 8 from top) and moves down as other past features get updated.
It's fine, happens to me all the time.

Oh.
OOOOOOOOH.
HOLY SHIT THAT EXPLAINS SO MUCH.
Fuck, how do you know that? As far as I know, there's no guide on the site about how the Featured Box works. Then again, maybe it's common sense and I just suck at computers and everything related. Which I do.
(I'm studying to be a lawyer, ok? I'm not supposed to be computer savvy!)

I watched it.
I noticed that the fics in the last three boxes were always fairly old but had a new chapter posted when they hit that spot. It's only ever those last three spots too. Whenever I published a new chapter on the one and only fic that has ever or will ever be featured from me, it hit spot 8 and moved down. Patterns.
And the reason there is no guide is to prevent people from abusing it. Or at least to help prevent that as people have been trying to figure out the heat that causes fics to be featured since day one. And then you have groups being made to abuse it etc. Probably why Knighty hasn't responded to you is because it's fine and he doesn't want to officially explain that part because SOMEONE SOMEWHERE will figure out a way to abuse it.
