EDIT: I'm no longer receiving applications! Thank you, everyone, for such a great response!

Howdy-do, folks! It's been a while since we've gotten a chance to chat, and that's sadly because I've been incredibly busy this past month. From moving in to a new house to prepping for university, I haven't really had much time to sit down and whip something up. That's not to say I haven't been accomplishing other things as well... and that's where all of you come in. Because I need your help!

As I mentioned in my previous blog, I've been working on something rather large; an epic of sorts. I've been hard at work, and it's been tough going, mainly because I'm dipping into genres of writing that I'm not wholly used to, and going out on a limb to do what I think is necessary to make this story work. Once the groundwork has been laid out, then I can full on start plowing through this adventure. And boy, is that gonna be rough! I've got a lot on my plate right now, from an epilogue to Air (I swear that's coming at some point), a secret project that the lot of you are going to despise me for, and a planned sequel to Pinkie Pie is Dead! I had so much fun writing the character of Sideways that I can't just leave him where he is. There's so much more to explore with him, and I hope to do just that with this next story. More on that as it comes, but for now, I come to you with a proposition.

Now, let's be frank, or even Steve or Bob if you so desire: I'm not exactly a huge name or icon or what have you. And even if I was, I suppose I'd still feel a bit guilty about asking this of you guys, but I'm gonna bite the bullet and throw this out there. If that falls into the water, then I'll resume as needed, but for now... hear me out.

I've often complained about my lack of consistent editors. I'm nearly always strapped for help, and begging people for favors isn't something I tend to feel awesome about doing. So I turned to alternate methods. I've tried and failed before in creating a solid group when creating The Cesspool to form a team of folk who'd be able and willing to slog through my drivel to make it less goopey and gross. That... didn't work out all that well. Not to say it was your fault, absolutely not, but mostly mine for being so apprehensive about dropping unfinished products in places where anyone could read them before they were ready. Some other folks have been awesome about helping me, such as this magnificent sonuvagun who's helped me out in more ways than I care to count, but on the whole, I've been stuck editing my own fics, and as a result, I miss a lot and don't learn too much. If I'm going to launch into an epic, that has to stop happening, for my sake as much as yours as potential readers.

Right so... here's the plan.

I wish to form a small team of editors who will be volunteering to assist me as we trek forward into this latest project of mine. These will by my right hand... men? Horses? Pones? Either way, they'll be my go to guys, the folks who choose to lay their sanity, common sense, and dignity on the line for the sake of making me suck less. They will be the few and the not-quite-proud-but-moreso-slightly-nauseated. They will be the...

...Well, I haven't exactly come up with a super catchy name for them quite yet. I'm sure I'll think of something.

Is this asking a lot? Is this incredibly pretentious and arrogant? Probably, but in my book it's still worth a shot. So if you're still listening and haven't shut down your computer in order to hunt me down and punch me in my stupid face, here's what I'd like to see happen. The crew that assembles to lend me a hand will essentially help me tear through my rough drafts and work with me to make what I write be the best it can be. When the call goes out, they'll be the ones to assemble in GoogleDocs, pitchforks and torches readied and in hand.

Does that sound interesting to you? I sure as heck hope so. If that's the case, then what's next is simple: send me a brief little PM expressing your interesting in lending a hand, telling me what your talents and history is as an editor, how often you'd be available, favorite color, yadda yadda yadda. You get the general idea. Nothing super formal here, I'm not that full of myself. I hope. I know that some of you here have edited for me before, and I really did appreciate that, so I'd love it if you helped me out once more.

I well and truly hope to see some of you volunteering. Either way, I'll do my damndest to ensure you guys get the best stories possible.

Hmm... I suppose you guys should have some sort of reward for making it all the way through that drivel... so how about a little teaser of what's to come?

Here's to hoping to seeing you guys real soon, and stay tuned for this next one! It's gonna be a doozy.

Oof.... how I SO want to help! D:

But, between you and me, university - or "college", as it's called in 'Murica - is eating a lot of time right now.... until I knew for sure what my schedule would be like, I wouldn't be able to help. :c

If you do need help in the future, hit me up - maybe I can! :D

Oh, well that's a shame. Good luck to you in university, though!

I believe I already told you I'd be more than willing to help out. Proofreading and editing is something I actually enjoy, and I'm usually online most of the time anyway.

Later tonight after I get off work, feel free to poke me on Steam. We can talk then and stuffs if you want.

And the same to you, Chromosome!

And you know I'm always on Steam, so chat me up if ya want, haha!

Well, for a name, I would go with Gene Pool. Because chromosome... and stuff.

You are improving in my eyes, editors or no.
PPiD was much more of a story as opposed to a written concept. Now if you apply that structure and flow to a concept that isn't sillytardedawesome.

Glad you think so! And yeah, I do still feel guilty about the way that PPiD ended, and I guess you could call the sequel my way of trying to make up for it. Hopefully this next story will do the same.
