Friends aren't people who don't piss you off. They're people who are worth forgiving over and over.

What I Did Today · 8:29am Jul 8th, 2013

Or yesterday, I guess, since it's nearly 3:30am.

Anyway, one of my friends wants to start up a campaign of Paranoia, and a couple days ago he had another friend and me create our characters for the campaign. One thing led to another, and the two characters became identical twins... with identical names. At some point, we came up with the idea of using a ME Card prop and passing it back and forth.

Today, I created said prop. At the behest of The Computer, I created extras for the other players to use.

See Dave-R-DED-1α's ME Card:

For those unfamiliar with Paranoia, characters are named thusly:
[Give Name]-[Clearance Level]-[Home Sector]-[Clone Count]

So, my character's name is Dave. My clearance level is RED (the clearance levels follow ROYGBIV, plus INFRARED below R and ULTRAVIOLET above V). I'm from sector DED, and I haven't (yet) had to make use of any clones. Because my twin brother has the same name as me, The Computer (ie: the GM) has graciously decided to differentiate us with an additional letter.

I made five ME Card props for the players, although the other players haven't made characters yet, so they'll have to write-in their names.

Of course, only while writing this blog did I realize that my twin brother was assigned the letter ω rather than β. Oh well. Maybe I'll start the game as Dave-R-DED-2α.

Most of the two characters was rolled randomly. And yet, most of the things that were rolled randomly for the two characters came up the same. We both got the same job at the same company. We both got the same mutant power. We both got the same secret society. Kinda creepy. But awesome. (I hesitate to post any of the "secret" information from my character sheet, because Dante225 is one of the other players in the group, and he reads my stuff occasionally, so he might see this blog post.)

I do think my character came out pretty well, though. The normal skills (Management, Stealth, Violence, Hardware, Software, Wetware) are 1d20 divided by 2, round up, and can't be lower than 4. My Management is 9 and my Wetware is 10. The "Secret Skills" given by the character's secret society are 1d20, and my Uncommon skill (the one most frequently useful) is 20. Which is awesome.

My Violence skill is a 4, though. :fluttercry:
And yet despite having the lowest possible Violence rating, I've specialized in Energy Weapons, Hand Weapons, and Unarmed Combat. :pinkiecrazy:

My twin brother has all kinds of treasonous specialties, and an extremely high rating in our secret society's Unhealthy skill... which is also treasonous. I've got nearly maxed out Chutzpah (Bluff) and maxed out Suggestion, so it looks like it's going to be up to me to keep his ass out of the fire. (When I say "maxed," I'm referring to character creation only. It's a 70% chance to succeed on a relevant roll assuming there's no interference.)
