I'm happy for you, but I'm honestly not surprised. It's a really good and interesting story, told well and written well. I might have expected demands for minor revisions, spelling corrections and other such things from the EqD pre-readers, but it's hardly surprising it got accepted.

It's about buckin' time! I've been wondering when this was going to get featured. The story itself is a unique take on the whole "human in equestria" trope and has a cast of funny, interesting characters. While I honestly feel that the EQD fiction tends to miss out on some really good fanfics, I can understand why they tend to be a little slow on the uptake. I mean if I was one of the biggest hubs of pony fandom on the net, I would probably have to slosh through a veritable ocean of bad spelling, forced plot twists, and horrible grammar every day to find anything worth mentioning. Either way, congrats Rust on the feature. I feel like I'm watching a local indie artist get featured at the Grammy's.
