Hello hello Fimfiction! It really feels great to have a story I said and done. Thank you all for joining me on that awesome adventure! I have learned so, so much from The Ones Forgotten, and I can't wait to push forward and give you guys more stuff.
Which is why I'm making this blog post!
See, I have the idea for another long-ish Fanfic that I intend to do sometime AFTER my next project (which is going to be a collab with a great friend of mine), but I figure that I might not want to jump into another chapters-long story right away.
So I've got the idea that I'll do 1 or 2 or 3 one shots between the collab in question and my next long, exploratory Fanfiction.
Which is where all of you come in!
I really personally want to explore the cast more, which is another reason I want to do these one shots. But WHO I'm going to do them about is currently up in the air. I can flesh out concepts perfectly fine, and I feel like I would be able to reasonably craft a story out of practically any pairing.
So, amongst the major cast (mane 6, Spike, princesses, other characters with speaking roles such as Shining Armor and Cadance) who would you guys like to see me write about?
I do have one request: I am not really comfortable writing foalcon, and I probably won't heed requests that are fetish-heavy.
Don't toss me actual fic ideas, just toss me characters and why. I like thinking of fic ideas myself!
Some ideas I already have:
-A Night In Prance (SpikeXTwiXRarity in Prance). Probably don't want to do this one first, but I can see myself wanting to do it.
-AJ with anyone who can get AJ to show her soft side and break down that rough exterior in a meaningful way.
-I like writing about Twilight, too, and she's really situationally malleable, so I'll probably do a fic with her again in the future.
So if you have one shot pairings you think would be interesting to see me write about, please tell me!

Well, I'd rejoice at anything with Spike x Twilight but I know you'd want to write something fresh. Something with the Princesses and AJ does have my curiosity.
Also, will you be continuing Fading Eclipse sometime?
A Night in Prance does sound most excellent, but i'd also be happy with anything featuring Luna. She's probably my favorite character next to Spike.

I was thinking that too; Luna is actually my favorite character as well, and I love the fact that she's a well of possibilities. I'd probably expect something with Luna out of these one shots. I wonder if AJ x Luna would work... Ooh! Has that been done before? Surely it has. Could be really cool though!

Wow, that's so interesting though! I've always thought of AJ as a really sentimental lovey pony underneath it all, and Luna is often portrayed in similar manners (hard exterior/soft interior). There's even a trust paradigm to work off of (In that Luna can't trust people easily and Applejack is all about trust because of her element). Now... to find the situation that makes both of them uncomfortable... Hehehe. I like this idea a lot.
Does a background pony count?
Casue if so I'm sure you would be able to make a very good Pipsqueak (older of course, I never make him the colt he is in the show) and Luna fic.
An earth pony romantically paired with the Goddess of the Moon, night sky and dreams? That is very much a once in a life time offer, maybe even throw in a jealous Discord and have them fight over her with pretty grudges

LunaJack is a pairing that's been around since Season 1, but it never really took off as a thing. There's some really good ones out there, the first major one done that I can remember was Merely a Mare by Ebon Mane. There's a lot of things you can do with the pairing.
Personally I'm interested in seeing how you handle Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie's characters when they're the main focus of a story instead of side characters. Could be interesting.
I also don't really remember Dash being in 'The Ones Forgotten' at all. Maybe I just forgot a scene with her in it, but a story where you try your hand at her could be fun. For the complete nonsense of it, let's ask you to ship her with... *looks at emoticons* ... Photo Finish. Because honestly I can think of a couple ways to do it and that's just an insane pairing that I'm pretty damn sure hasn't been done.
So yeah... basically just wanting you to try different characters is all. You said you didn't want ideas for the fics, just characters so it kind of limits the requests for me.

Though I very much agree with you and Spilight will ALWAYS come first, it's nice to see new ideas and stories of different romantic pairs, personally. I think you would very much enjoy the Spilight group, I also have some stories of the pair you might enjoy

Spike x Celestia or Spike x Luna, simply because there is a disturbing lack of either ship and I quite enjoy reading said ships.
After reading how well and how deeply you write characters, I'd really like to see your take on Celestia. I recently read The Student and the Sun, and enjoyed the deeper exploration of Celestia and Twilight, not necessarily in a romantic sense, but more the dynamic between them, how they perceive each other and their relationship. The dynamic between her and other characters needs some expansion as well.
I enjoy the rare story that shows more than just a monarch and letter recipient, and I think you could pull that off really well. You had a hint of that in The Ones Forgotten, with Celestia worried about "playing favorites" by healing Twilight.
I can imagine a good one-shot out of that, though I can also imagine a normal-sized story as well, and I'd love to see either.
Apart from that, I'd love to see a Flutterdash story with strong characterizations and original thinking. There's a "natural" and common way to write that pairing, and that approach can certainly still be written well, but that "natural" approach seems so overdone. I'd love to see some originality here, and some deeper characters than usual.

Hmm. Well I've already sorta decided whats coming next but I appreciate the ideas for the future. Fluttershy is one of those characters I don't think the show develops entirely properly, but both fluttershy and rainbow are a dynamic that I light need some help with from someone who understands their appeal well
