World of Warcraft - stopped playing this game years ago. Fond memories, but I grew tired of spending money on it.

I'm surprised at how few of these I thought of, despite playing most of these games. I mean, other than Fenrir I never even considered the rest of them.
I always wondered if Fenrir was specifically Norse mythology or if it was some obscure reference that flew over my head.
Glad to see I was right about the Norse thing.
edit: I was messing about on skyrim when I just remembered the norse mythology around Fenrir ... more specifically how he will eventually "devour the sun and moon" and while the chance is there that I may be mixing up mythologies I'm fairly certain that was it.
I mean I know that if something were to happen it probably wouldn't be Fenrir as he is pretty far from the top of the list of the "possible things that might be the death of Celestia and Luna sometime in the near future" list. I just thought it was kinda funny how that works out.

YES. I actually caught most of those! Also, as an added bonus, the author finally breaks their almost monk-like silence! Double bonus! I wouldn't mind getting more updates on stuff like this, or about hearing how the coming chapters are...well, coming. I ESPECIALLY would like an idea of what chapters are coming soon down the pipe. I know that there's some idea of a pattern with them, but it'd be nice to have an actual IDEA once in a blue moon!
I remember only catching the Oblivion guard reference. RPGs aren't really my thing, but I dabble. Regardless, a very impressive list of shoutouts. I'm curious, do they just come to you as you write, or do you make an effort to include them?

A little of both. Some shout outs are pre-planned (most of the Dark Souls references are). Others just lend themselves to me during the writing process itself.
Whoa I only noticed about half of these when I was reading through the story. That being said I suddenly feel the need to replay Dark Souls again
so.... what about the First Rebellion and how it looks so similar to the Horus Heresy from Warhammer 40 000?
and I knew there are Dragon Age and Skyrim quotes there =P
