Revamp 3: Revenge of the Vamp

Okay, Last of the TSW series revamped. I changed the focus of Golden Bit's plot, so it hopefully makes a little more sense, but try not to expect miracles, here. Anything more intensive would have required practically rewriting the whole story, and I'm definitely not doing that. I was going to do more with the final chapter, but honestly, I just want to move on to newer stories. I'd rather

Slight Revamp 2: The Revampening part 2

Okay. So. I have come up with an alternate subplot for Golden Bit that I think will work. However, this is going to require a much more intensive rewriting of the story, especially the later chappies. The first few chappies are going to be just like the previous two arcs, with mainly just corrections, and updating the Equish to my new standard. Later on... well, it's gonna get different.

    Slight Revamp 2: The Revampening

Okay, so I Would Do Anything for Love, the second story in the TSW series has been... adjusted. Mistakes corrected, Equish words updated, and Celestia's badassery scene lengthened. This is one of the original criticisms of this story that bugged me upon reflection. I gave her this grand build up, only for her to falter because the clock ran out. So now, she pushes on a little and... No. You want

    Slight revamp

So, I was wondering whether to add another chapter to Amore Obbligato, or to a non-pony story I'm working on, when I decided, "You know what? This is as good a time as any to finally clean up TSW!" So, here we are, with me going through the story, correcting old mistakes that were missed, adding some clarifications, and generally making all the details and words used compliant with later sequels.

Question for any Italian speakers out there

So, in writing up my newest chapter of Amore Obbligato, I've run into a small problem with which I was hoping my readers can help. As you know, the story revolving around Octavia and Twilight, there's going to be a lot of musical terms, most of which are Italian in origin. That being said, I thought it would be cute if Octavia and her mother have cute little musical nicknames for each other. To

Final Chapter Alert · 4:53am Feb 23rd, 2013

I decided to end I Would Do Anything for Love with the next chapter. Why? Well, because it would be kinda strange to continue it after switching gears like that. It already went from sappy romance to action/adventure, so switching it to sappy romance again would just be odd. Be not afraid, however, the tale will go on, just in a new story. To that end, I'm wrapping up the final chappie, and this one is a doozy in size (for me, anyway). We're talking over 6500 words, and I haven't even written the final clop scene (yes Virginia, there will be clop). Things are said, ponies are done... er, wait. Let me rephrase that. Things are said, plots are wrapped up (no, not like that! although...), and final punishments are doled out. There is a twist (isn't there always?), and I won't spoil it here; but suffice it to say that it should resolve any lingering problems. If any of you can think of plot points I may have missed, or you want resolved, ask here, or forever hold your peace.

With that out of the way, there's a story, I'd like to give a shout out to. Go read The Other Mare by Device Heretic. If you ever want to see how Cheerilee, Twilight, or Celestia should be written, or how to write real drama, see this story. It will change your life. Seriously, if I had just a tenth of this guy's skill... but I digress. Read this story. For a DH story under Sleepless Brony's profile, it is criminally under-read.

That's vaguely disappointing actually. I'm not hugely into the smut heavy stories (I prefer to keep my pornography and entertainment separate things), so I've kinda skimmed those bits, but the story itself was pretty entertaining.

I hope really not cutting any planned elements short. It'd be kind of a shame.

Will we be getting more stories of Twilight's herd just not under the "I Would Do Anything For Love" entry?

Also, I will second "The Other Mare" it's extremely well written, but the size of the latest chapter is a bit daunting with my short times that I have available for reading :twilightblush:

Lucky it's so plot driven then, and not dependent on the smut, huh? Don't worry. I'm not cutting anything short. This is just a convenient place to end this particular... phase of the story. :twilightsheepish:

I probably should have been more clear, but the adventures will continue; just I Would Do Anything for Love will be ending. I'm not done with this.. fanon setting, not by a longshot.

And DH is amazing, isn't he? If I could somehow have a mancrush on writing, his would be it. :twistnerd:

Oh, The Other Mare. My mind was literally blown twice at once with the latest chapter.

I just hope we don't see a hurried rush to tie up all the hanging threads, I can't really think of any plot threads that would need immediate resolutions, except cheerilee's health. All the other major ones, twi and celestias relationship, twis true nature, etc) seem like they still have a way to go. Here's hoping the next story keeps up the same level of awesomeness we've seen so far. This has been one of the few fics that I've genuinely been waiting with baited breath for the next chapter

I'm not sure what or how much you have planned for the setting, but I for one would really love to see some little slice-of-life moments for the herd. Just them dealing with some of the things that we all deal with everyday, but with their own little quirks and personalities.

First reaction to the blog post title::raritydespair::fluttershbad::pinkiesad2:

Reaction after actually reading it: Oh well that's fine.

I'm sad to hear this part is already over, but I'm also glad this isn't really the end so to say. A greedy part of me hopes this would never end, that we just get to follow Twilight and her mares all throughout life, through child raising and beyond, but whatever you write I will enjoy and learn to be grateful for.

Also already the chapter to 'The Other Mare' and it was great.

857318 Can your mind do that?

No! Switching back from the Action to Slice of Life Sappy Romance is exactly what many writers SHOULD do. Teach. Sorc. Wonderbolt is like a soap opera. Also we have that whole Herd thing and still no idea what it means.

857318
Mine too. :rainbowderp:
857422
No, no. None of that. If I can't wrap it up nicely and more importantly believably, then it will be carried over to the next story.
857543
That's the plan, along with some drama here and there. :raritywink:
857645
That does sound like fun, and I sort of have an idea how to do it. I'll handle it more or less how Starving Lunatic did in his KiGo story series Walking the Line. It was a fantastic love story that became a fantastic slice of life when Kim Possible and Shego married and had kids. :pinkiehappy:
...
You heard me. :trollestia:
857646
I'll take that soap opera comment as a compliment. Because we all know that nothing beats a soap opera for drama, no matter how silly the story gets. :ajsmug:

858326 What I meant is: It shall never end. The Setting has so many things that are still in need to be adressed. A Soap Opera is a series in which new storylines are introduced before the others are resolved, so the Audience never gets closure. So to say the sequel hook comes before the finale. In TSaW there's the whole Nyx thing and the secret service guys to hint the setting is larger than we think. Here's the whole herd thing. So to say you still have stuff to tell.

857646>>858326
I'm reminded of the hilarious show "Soap". It's what you get when you take soap operas to their logical conclusions but play it for laughs instead of drama.
