Hell YES. dl.dropbox.com/u/31471793/FiMFiction/emoticons/misc_Spitfire_dayum.png

A sequel to what has to be one of the finest Cheerilight (And Twilestia with the alternate ending) stories ever written? Again, hell YES. dl.dropbox.com/u/31471793/FiMFiction/emoticons/misc_Spitfire_rape.png

Ow, the feels. BTW I absolutely love how you write Luna. The "otherness" you convey with both alicorns is just perfect.

Dammit, I was writing, and utterly determined not to let anything on the big, shiny intertubes distract me this time! Only to get freakin' tag-teamed outta nowhere! Now I'm stuck reading this stupid, bloody, nearly-ten-thousand-word-long piece of utter--

Sexy, comedic, emotionally moving brilliance...

Woe is me, etc. :raritydespair:

*sigh* All of my likes. Please take them.

That description and no comedy tag?

Meh. I swore off this continuity after LFW.

That was interesting. I have issues with that cold-like Celestia because of my current headcanon, but that's just me.
Definitely looking forward to see how this pans out.

I truly loved Romance Reports, but I'm having a hard time feeling this one. Maybe I'll try this again some other time.

I must read this... You need to write more stuff like this, Sleepless. And by that, I mean sequels to Romance Reports.

Seems like some problems are already popping up.

I checked my stats before leaving work, saw that my own Fluttershy's Night Out was poised to jump into the only weak slot in the feature box. Got home, checked again, it was NOT in the feature box. Instead, this... this sudden UPSTART leapfrogged ahead of me, into MY SPOT!

Clicked on it. A new device heretic story.

Dammit! I can't even be mad! :rainbowlaugh:

If I understand the attributions correctly, DH has actually done a hell of a job mimicking the style of "Romance Reports" on this. I mean, I can still recognize his handiwork, but it's a remarkably good study of the original.

I am... a little curious if this means that the entire last third of "Romance Reports" (the end of Chapter 14 on down) is, canonically and with your blessing, a hallucination. Don't know what to feel about that, but I can't pretend I'm not interested in seeing where he's going to take this. Faving to keep abreast of it, and for goodness's sake (literally).

When I saw the words "sex coma" in the description, I was worried this was going to be a trollfic. Instead, you got Celestia's characerization (a regal façade over a very mortal heart) spot-on and made my heart genuinely reach out for Cherilee.

Oh, I've read Romance Reports. It was in fact one of the very first FiMfics I've read. But that doesn't change anything, I was talking about my headcanon in general. ;p

Amazing!:pinkiegasp: Been wanting a follow up on this awesome Cheerilight for ever.:pinkiehappy:

DH is doing an spectacular job mimicking RR style. But I can feel his writing in Celestia all the way. :trollestia:

Dying here. For multiple reasons. Poor Cheerilee, poor Celestia, poor Luna. :fluttershysad:

...and Twilight's in a coma because Cheerilee gave her a really good horn job. :rainbowlaugh:

I wish I could blend comedy and angst half as well as this.

You know how you get really excited for something, and end up saying things with more exclamation than you intend to? And then there's a whole other level of excited beyond that, where you just can't exclaim at all, as if you're so excited that you're physically incapable of properly showing it? That's where I am right now.

I see this like a way to connect the original ending and the alternate ending.Kind of.

It's kinda fun watching girls hate each other in secret.
But the dam has to break sometime!

wait they're ponies...

Um... don't you mean concept by Device Heretic and story by you?

Oh my goddess, this was magnificent. I'm glad I stayed up to finish it. I hope you thanked the hell out of Device Heretic for making this because... wow:rainbowderp:

So freaking good. The mystique and intrigue is better than almost any other fanfiction out there. Every character has their subtleties that just make the story intellectually hot as hell. There's so much to read into, AND it's funny. I could definitely go for more of this :pinkiehappy:

Maybe it's just been a while since I've read anything by him but, if you didn't say it, I wouldn't have thought this was written by DH. idk.

It was good, I guess. Maybe I'm not in the mood to read something like this but... seems like most people are saying "Oh magnificent!!1" only because of DH.

Nopony does slightly sleazy teasing in as classy a way as Rarity. :duck:

I'm very interested in what's going on with the Princesses, but the real heart of the story is of course Cheerilee - it's named after her, after all! - and her growing realization of just how big a deal Twilight Sparkle really is. Our favorite librarian's life really is quite extraordinary when seen through the eyes of an entirely common pony. :twilightsheepish:

I agree. Perfect way to spend time I SHOULD use for sleeping! Also, I was hoping someone would do more stories in this universe, the characters were developed enough to warrant several story arcs; whether or not they revolved around Cheerilee and Twilight or not.

Sex coma is best coma.

Also, FiMFiction, Y U NO have Cheerilee emotion? :twilightangry2:

Sleepless came up with the idea behind the story, device heretic is the one actually writing it.

That was awkward, poor Cheerilee. Maybe I'm just reading into things (because as I reader I got a glimpse at Celestia's jelousy the scene before), but despite smiling and being understanding Celestia felt very passive aggressive to me during their encounter. Anyweay, this is a great study of what it's like for pony not used to deal with the immortal princesses on daily basis to meet one of them.

I never really liked the way Luna came across in RR, don't like her here much either. But that's the only gripe I have. It was great to read some DH words again

A sequel to one of my favorite fics?

seems like most people are saying "Oh magnificent!!1" only because of DH.

Yep, you're exactly right.

This sequel's drama really doesn't matter because we know Twi get's out of it, and Cheerilee is the one that dies in the future - along with Pinkie - but whatever. This might be another timeline or something - I'm easily confused. It was decently written and a little bit funny, I guess.

1458804 I know, right?

So we can definitely expect to see this continue? Because it most certainly has my attention.

And a lot of people are going to say it's rubbish only because it's written by DH. :ajbemused:

Me, I'm happy whichever way, because I like both DH's writing and the Romance Reports universe.

And a lot of people are going to say it's rubbish only because it's written by DH.

Huh. That's also true. That's kinda dumb, if you ask me.

I like DH's writing, but this story... not so much. It's decent, but... Oh well. I think DH's actual content is much better than RR anyway.

finally an explanation of why Cheerilee dumped Twi kinda was peeved when one chapter they where 'having fun' together an the next split up:facehoof:

The Alt End was always an Alt End.

But, from what device has told me, he is in fact going to be a bit meta about it...

Most fanfics are pretty lack luster and do no really stand out but this guy reminds me how a good story will just go right over my head. Keep juicing this!

:fluttercry: I thought this would be a sequel to the alternate ending of RR, but its a good start to hopefully a good story. Can't wait for future chapters

So why did Sleepless post it?

Site Blogger

That was at device heretic's request. I don't know the specific reasoning behind it, but Sleepless still wanted to make sure everyone knew it was dh writing it (he cleared it with the FIMFic mods too).

Meh, it was pretty good.

Dang, I wish it was Friday then my whole week would've been made, but sadly, it's Thursday :(

There are two more chapters inbound.

1464814 Awesome, glad to hear it.

Yeah, but, it's not just the alternate ending being edited out. Whichever leg of the trousers you go down -- If I'm remembering the original story correctly here -- placing Twilight's coma at this point in the timeline comes before a lot of important character-building events: the fight, the breakup, Twilight's adamant dedication to win Cheerilee back, all that. Hell, she actually might have discovered The Secret Of True Love during this period. It'll be interesting to see how undoing all this changes things.

Of course, this may simply be an alternate timeline where Twi gets coma'd around Chapter 14 and this iteration of the character hasn't experienced either ending. But presenting this as a "sequel" rather than simply an alternate take makes me suspicious. Anyway, intrigued, in case you couldn't tell.
