Considering Creating a Writing Guide · 4:54am Mar 5th, 2012
In the recent past, I have had a few people come to me asking for writing help, or I have volunteered my help to others in exchange for theirs. As I have helped a few folks with their writing both on and off of this website, I have noticed some common trends. I would love to share some of the knowledge that I have gained.
Now as ANYONE that has either edited or read my unedited work can tell you, I am not a master of grammar. I am far from this as a matter of fact. However, I do know a few things about style, characterization, and storytelling that might be useful to some.
So I pose this question, would anyone be interested in something like this? I am aware that I am far from being the best writer, but I might be able to help one or two folks with their work.
If I get a few responses to this post asking me to do this, then I will very happily write a little guide on writing. I would warn people that this guide won't be professional, it will just be my own view on writing, and how to make your writing better. There are MANY different approaches to writing, some of which I'd like to cover in a manual.
On another note, I planned to write a post thanking all of those who have followed me and have read my stories, as I have just surpassed 100 watchers. However, the thank you post I planned was long and will have to wait as I am on a strict time schedule right now.
Thank you all and I hope life is treating you well.
You could make it into a story format. Have Twilight 'explain' the steps to writing fanfiction as she helps Rainbow Dash write a fanfic involving Daring Do.
First off yes I would this! I've been trying to start writing and I well........okay the plane taking off is just a bit overloaded lets say anyways I like this idea!
Secondly I like Jlargent's idea of a story format my hat is off to you sir!
A writing guide's a great idea. Please make this!
I think it'd be a wonderful idea. Some of the writers in the MLP community could use all the help they can get, so the more perspectives on decent writing and how to do it out there the better. I agree as well that Jlargent's idea sounds nice. It'd be informative and entertaining at the same time.
I would appreciate a writing guide also I've been looking to start up some writing of my own
Insight into writing, no matter where it comes from, help people improve theirs.
So yes please, I'd love to see a writing guide from you.
I'd read it.
Everyone knows I need the help.
24710 This is a GREAT idea.
A guide that helps others is always valued. There is nothing wrong if it aids their work and makes them better at what they do. I'll look forward to seeing it done (and making any corrections if needed.)

I'd appreciate it. Nopony seems to enjoy my writing.
I can't help but feel you're doing this because of me.(JK)
