A few notes on 'Paternally Yours.' · 6:00pm Feb 3rd, 2013
-The title was of course originally 'Dear Rarity,' but that title didn't mesh up to the finished project. This isn't the first time that's happened. 'Lost in the Night' was originally 'Forbidden.'
-The opening lines directly mirror the opening lines of 'Dear Sweetie Belle.'
-Ancient unicorn is obviously Latin. There's something elegant about that. Crescendo's class-room policies are the same as my high school Latin teacher's. 'Salvete Discuplili' is 'Greetings Students' and 'Salve Magister' is 'Greetings Teacher.' Oh, and 'mihi licet ambulare ad latrinum?' 'Would it be permissable for me to use the restroom.'
-Both of Crescendo's children bear marks/names that are steps down from his own. An eighth note is one down from a sixteenth note, and a dimuendo is below a crescendo. Thanks to DJ Dashstep for that info.
-I'm thinking that the distinct eye color of Crescendo's line has some signifigance to be revealed down the road.
-I kinda love the flash-back to the night Sweetie Belle was concieved. It's equal parts funny and sweet. Plus I find drunk Rarity hilarious.
-Continuity wise, this story takes place post 'the Sin of Envy, or a Mother's Love.' Safe to say that Sweetie Belle and Featherweight didn't last.
