    The Shadow of a Doubt

    Hi guys!

Okay, long story short, I realise I've been pretty useless these last few months in terms of actually putting out fresh poni-words. However, I've finally gotten back on the horse dammit gotten back to the keyboard and finished up that one-shot I've been talking about for years.

Not-deadness, new stories and rusty turnips.

    Hey guys,

I'm back, in typical Ardensfax fashion, a month too late with a pack of excuses. I'll simply say this, however; screw exams. Screw exams in every available orifice with a rusty turnip. Okay, I think I got that out of my system; basically, exams are over, things are easing off a little, and story stirrings are happening. Assuming anyone's still here.

In Her Blood - Possible Hiatus

    'Ello.

First off, to those of you following In Her Blood, an apology and a reassurance: For the apology, yes, there's a good chance that IHB will be going on hiatus for a little while. For the reassurance, I'm not losing interest in writing it (by any stretch of the imagination), and it should be back in just over a month.

About this whole season finale business... · 12:39pm Jan 30th, 2013

Spoiler alert. Well, I... I guess this counts as spoilers, right? Or does everyone know by now?

I'd dearly love to make a huge wall of text about this, but to be honest, I don't want to wade too deeply into a debate that's still so hysterically arm-wavey. Besides, this video sums up my thoughts a lot better.

EDIT: Okay, turns out you can no longer embed links or videos into blog posts for some reason. Have a raw link instead. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=y25o7HLTrTE

...Yeah, I'm not all that worried about this whole AliTwi business. Sure, it smells like a corporate decision to sell toys, more than a writer's choice, but hey, they pulled of Cadence reasonably well. Ultimately, it could be great, or it could be terrible; the bottom line is that there's little point panicking over it before the episode's aired. I'm personally optimistic, and even if that optimism proves baseless, this fandom has more than enough creative momentum to keep going ad infinitum. Plus, ending aside, the actual premise of the episode sounds great fun. I do wonder how they'll be able to put a reasonably-complex plot and an undoubtedly-ceremonial Princessification ending into a single 22-minute episode. I really hope it isn't too rushed, because I utterly love the premise.

Sorry, I don't like to make story-unrelated blog posts, I just couldn't resist boosting that video. Screaming at bottles of milk is my new go-to stress-relief activity.

I dont freak out about it and i think they will manage to get this in pretty well as ususal. What im worried about is that the whole thing will be very rushed because, well lets face it; Twilight will become an Alicorn, some weird shit with the cutie mark will happen (probebly), there will be a song, and they only have 22 minutes, I really hope they will be able to pace it. But after watching the Discord episode i think they will have a hard time with it here

Cadence and Shining Armor is exactly why I have faith that Alicorn Twilight won't ruin the show.

At first I kinda freaked out... for about 10 Minutes.
After this I only was like: Oh well like it wasn't guessed for months now anyway.
I kinda dislike the idea to be completely honest, but I have faith in the Mlp staff, that the won't mess it up to badly.

Who, first off, the hay was that guy in the video, Ardensfax-sama? Second, people are constantly going on about that she is gonna be turned, but my question is how? Is this just a buncha people doing wild speculation (not saying that you would wildly speculate, Ardensfax-sama) or have the writers and/or animators of the show come out and told of an actual way Celestia is going to give Twilight wings, or is it surgery, or what? I personally feel, even if this is true, people are getting worked up over nothing. Behold, Twilight Sparkle in human form; the guy in the video:rainbowlaugh:

Inb4 we all got trolled and there is no AliTwi

from the various episode streams, and commercials for the next episodes in there... There's one scene where the six are floating in the air, all hugging Twilight, while wearing their element necklaces. I think the elements will play a crucial role in her ascension.

My reaction when I heard about the Alicorn!Twilight episode:

Also,

Sorry, I don't like to make story-unrelated blog posts

Allow me to jump in, then... Editing on chapter 12 is coming along nicely. I'll be done with my part, hopefully, by the end of the week, and then it will be up to Ardensfax when to post.

772593

but my question is how?

My understanding is that Twilight botched a spell (surprise!), resulting in swapped cutie marks among other 'side-effects'.

I'm not too concerned, I think it's just going to be a one episode thing

I think I've moved into the stage of numb acceptance.

772593 He's one of the guys of the Bronies React video series on Youtube. As for the actual process, they haven't let out any specifics yet, but it's been pretty much confirmed at this stage that Twilight's bound for Alicorndom. I'll be interested to see the actual hows and whys though.

772670 If the ascension's actually facilitated by the others, rather than directly by the princess, I think that'd be a nice way of starting the whole thing.

772692 That was pretty much my face too, then I acquired popcorn and an industrial-strength umbrella, and went to check out the reaction thread on EqD. Hoo boy. :rainbowwild: Also, thanks! That's a good thing! :pinkiehappy:

I haven't managed to review your stories (yet), but with regards to this whole situation.....I think alot of people are just blowing smoke; their can be loads more good about all this then people think, it's really just a matter of perspective.

I don't think it's too much to ask to just wait-and-see; it doesn't matter how this came to be, who made the call or whatever...it doesn't really matter anymore; people are looking for someone to blame instead of asking themselves why they genuinely dislike it. Whether this came out of fanservice, the toy department, Faust, etc....it doesn't really matter - it's happening, and the only and best thing we can do now is enjoy the ride, which may be alot better then people think.

And if not, well, their is always fanworks to let you build the world you would have preferred to see.

I don't want to get into this anymore, but I wouldn't be surprised whatsoever if their were older generation fans who are absolutely thrilled by this; and frankly, they have every right too. Of course, if that reddit post really was true after all to a T, then an "overwhelming response" may have an effect after all, so people are certainly welcome to try....and if not, well, again, maybe their is good to be found in this after all - we just have to wait and see.

As for me - I'm cool with it. It's not like I gonna eat evey bone thrown at me like a starving dog - not at all! Maybe it's all about the money and stuff, maybe - not - anyway, everypony, we're neither not Hasbro nor Thiessen, so we'll probably never know the truth.
Do we need to know it? Will it affect greatly our love for this show and it's characters? Shall all the musicians stop playing pony-music, and writers drop their quills?
Guess not.
Let's wait and see. The show used to surprise us many times - and it will never stop doing it.
Let's imagine what happens after coronation. What discoveries lie ahead? What challenges Twiley is to face? the trial of power and pride? How can one keep one's closest friends when the world turns upside down?
And just imagine those flying sessions held by RD! Eventual TwiDash - buck yeah! - my head-canon is full of ideas for fics! Etc.
Have some warm milk with honey. Breath in. Now out. Changes are coming. But who told you it's all about your favourite show going down?
In Russia we say: "Whatever comes - it's for good". I'm sure it can't be wrong now to say that.:rainbowdetermined2:

I haven't seen a single shred of proof that Twilight will become an Alicorn. I've seen ONE sticker that could've been faked. And as for this "Coronation" I almost absolutely sure they are talking about the coronation concert that will be hosted in Los Angeles:ajbemused: If someone has some better proof, I've yet to see it.

773867It doesn't? That's odd; it works for me. Did you try highlighting it, right clicking it, and selecting "Open Link" or "Open Link in New Tab" or copying it into your url bar? Or you could try this one if that still doesn't work for some reason: http://www.equestriadaily.com/2013/01/twilights-new-groove-toys.html
My bad, I'm not really used to the FIMFiction comment system. I just noticed the "Add Link" button, but that doesn't seem to be available in edits. I had just copied and pasted the url when I added it.

At least spike wont have to be orphaned when Twi gets too old...but then she will loose all her friends in due time...i just made myself sad:fluttershysad:
