Domestication...Where are the chapters? · 4:06am Jan 26th, 2013
I am really not too fond of deviantART. It is a hassle to use for me, because not only does the site run slowly on my computer, but I also have to mess with the documents (adding more technical edits and such) to submit into a proper reading format. So, I'm not going to post in deviantART right now. Not right now. I just want to post up the two chapters, and move on. So does anybody else know how I can submit the chapters? I don't like Gdocs, either. I really just enjoyed fimfiction's simple formatting/posting structure.
Should I just post the chapters here in a blog, and then those of your who REALLY want to read it can find it here?
Fanfic.net?
it figures Deviantart ruins everything....
what about your fanfiction.net account? Why not post to that one?
fanfiction.net
I agree with the thing above me (Lium if this is late) and your idea.
If that is what you want to do sure. Otherwise post on Fanfic.net and provide links in the blog would work too.
I forgot my e-mail/password for fanfic.net. Can you believe that? hahahaha.752604>>752608>>752609>>752611
Post it as a story here, but instead of publishing it just share a link to it in a blog post.
Okay then.

Actually, I know that feeling all too well........
....well shit.

Make a new account?
752618 LOL
You can use mine!
I don't.
Though that wouldn't really fly would it?
I've never had any major trouble with DA, although I just copy/paste them from a word processor and add the appropriate html, like <i>text</i>. Do you upload the documents? Cuz that might make it a hair more confusing.
I was really enjoying domestication, so anyway that I can still read it would be greatly loved
It's against the law to own literature. I guess the firemen will have to pay a visit to your house.
I can help edit if you need to... I've used Deviantart before to post stories... but I would suggest that you upload to FanFiction (assuming you have an account) because it is a lot easier to use (though still a hassle I admit)
but either way... I want to read the rest of it NOW

Farhenheit 451 all the way!!!!
I would really prefer if you just post them as normal, but if you really feel so strongly about not doing so, I would recommend just posting it as a blog on here or something. When you said you weren't posting them on here, I died a little inside...and now I'm anxiously awaiting them in some form.

I think this idea is pretty good.
Post it on here and put a simple password in a blogpost.
hell yes. I must read it. pleaaaaaaaase
YES!!
What problems are you having with DA? Maybe I can assist you in that department.
Make another fanfic.net account or post them as a blog.
~Have a good one.
I recommend getting a list together of people who actually want the fic and email it to them under a e-mail address that you post for it. That way the people who want to read it after seeing the first two chapters can actually read it and not have to worry about spoilers. Just have everyone send PMs so you don't put people's email addresses at risk.
yes please and let us know when the chapters are posted :)
My advice: Write them in HTML format. I assume that's what you're talking about when you mention proper reading format. You're talking about converting from BBCode (like here on FimFiction) to HTML (like every other goddamn site).
But isn't it a simple find and replace? Replace all [ i] with <em>, replace all [ b] with <strong>.
It seems quick and easy to me. Though I assume running it repeatedly is cumbersome, if you're running Windows. Hmmm...
Copy-paste the source code when the page is being displayed on FimFiction, then paste it on DA.

Now that's just evil. Fanfiction.net has, hands down, the worst design of any website I've ever seen. A cumbersome submission system from the 90s that they never bothered to update. An even worse alert system for readers, RSS feeds and tracking progress seem to be foreign ideas to them. Not only that, they ban links, urls and images, even on user profiles.
I understand that to a certain extent, some people here abuse the use of images and links. Using them in lieu of actually describing something. But others, such as myself, know how to use them responsibly, and might want to notify their readers that their stories are actually posted on other sites which are updated sooner. Or perhaps they want to pay tribute to authors such as Harlan Ellison, who wrote I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream. Sections in that story were not book-ended by simple lines, let me tell you, but specific images which played a role in the story.
But now I'm rambling.

Considering he opted to post here once more, the point is kinda moot, no? It would have served in a pinch, at any rate.
755602 i was desperate

You know what would also work in a pinch? Running your own website.
Blogspot, WordPress, Tumblr, take your pick. They all work well.
