Journey of the Sorceror · 4:58am Jan 19th, 2013

As with books and ponyfic, I have a sort of mental Vault of my all-time favorite music. This is one of them.

Doug Adams fans should recognize it as being the theme to various incarnations of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Really wish there was an extended version of that last on the OST.

Wow, never knew it was a "real" tune, as it were!:pinkiegasp:

Bohemian Rhapsody. Avast Fluttershys's A** 20% cooler and equalizer. Discords Rise. And
RAINBOW FACTORY

ANDIAMO!!!

When I was eleven or so, I was horribly ill and home from school for days. I remember that I missed the end of the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode Yesterday's Enterprise because I had to run to the bathroom to vomit. It took me years, in those pre-internet days, to finally see the end.

Anywho, one of my memories of that time was my N.P.R. station running a marathon of the B.B.C. Radio version of The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I heard that banjo speak to me a dozen times, over and over. I had only recently read the book series, and hearing the characters brought to life stayed with me.

I've never known a science-fiction story whose theme music is as perfectly captured by its theme music as The Journey of the Sorcerer. The Doctor Who theme comes close, though...

I actually bought Yesterday's Enterprise on VHS so I could see it start-to-finish. It's still somewhere in my parents' basement, I think...
