Two Songs That Are WAY Too Similar and #NotSpon Plug For a Great Author (Oh, and RainbowDash2012.) · 3:13am May 20th
See this guy? Destiny Chaser
He's a supremely talented author who sadly hasn't gotten much of the recognition he deserves.
He does it all: great action, believable and complex characters, moments of absolute hilarity here and there, actually trying his hardest to make something completely unique and succeeding, etc. I could go on all day. There's a reason his stories are some of my favorites on the site.
Here's his first one:
(Don't let the seemingly brief and undescriptive short description turn you away.)
It has a much shorter sequel that should not be skipped (and if you do, I'm coming after you, because it's one of the funniest things I've ever read) and a longer sequel (threequel) that's he's just starting to write.
Please check this guy out when you have the urge to start reading a new longer fic. Please, my dear followers.
Okay, on to other business!
When I first heard the Alan Parsons Project album Eye in the Sky, I loved it immensly.
However, one song stood out to me as interesting.
(Children of the Moon)
It really reminded me of this great MLP fan song.
(Lost on the Moon- WoodenToaster, The Living Tombstone, Rina-Chan)
Both really can be read as describing the plight of whoever would have stood by Princess Luna when she first turned into NIghtmare Moon, in the idea where such a thing happened.
(Though the MLP one is exactly about that.)
And if you see RainbowDash2012 making random comments on my stuff, don't worry. I'm entirely fine with that.
(He's actually a very interesting guy.)
But what about Games People Play by Allen Parsons project? It reached #16 on the Hot 100 in 1981 from that same album I think. That’s probably my favorite song by the them. Sirius/Eye in the sky is their biggest hit easily though, a major hit reaching #3 on the Hot 100 in 1981.

That's actually from Turn of A Friendly Card. I've yet to listen to it. I'll have to rectify that.
(And I'll check out America as well, though I've never heard of them before.)
America is awesome if you like soft rock. They were popular in the early 70s when soft rock acts like James Taylor and Hamilton, Joe Franks, and Reynolds were really big.
Drake basically ripped them off with his first hit Best I Ever Had which reached #2 on the Hot 100 in 2009

I'll definitely try them out. Thanks.
No, thank you!
I can sense your intense execration of me

I keep thinking excretion, like poop.
Ain't no way man. Ain't NO way.

There’s always a way to the dark side. Look at Darth Vader. You don’t know the power of the dark side!
I think you get the title of my biggest fan.
I really appreciate your praise, it’s very encouraging; makes me want to write more!

That's probably what I've been going for.
Thanks for the designation.
I'm serious when I put your stories on my userpage alongside the likes of Anthropology and Past Sins as my top favorites.
