Personally, I do not think this note is too long; however, a lot of authors here put these notes in blogs instead of inside the stories, so the location is certainly up to your personal preference.

I agree, five lines was pretty short before I added the pictures.

This is something I'm still on the fence about and experimenting with as a compromise with for explaining jokes in detail, for anyone interested in any references they missed, and other readers who're just interested in the story as-is or felt the references were obvious. it wasn't that long, but felt too long after deciding to add the pictures from the show, unless I resized them/combined them and uploaded them somewhere else.

If you are interested in tightening up the references section, here's a suggestion (of course, feel free to take it or leave it), and the style could be used for other references sections. My tactic was to reduce each line to its basics.

CURRENT:
