Considering deleting my account 😕, could use advice.

As the title says, I'm considering deleting my account. The main reason is that I'm simply not as much of a Brony as I was 5 years ago.

I'm also very stressed out by my story After Death, Creation. I want to rewrite the chapter with Calvin to be an AroAce QPR, but I keep being very stressed out by it to the point people are marking the story as Dead again.

    On Hiatus (again)!

For varying reasons, I need to take a six month break from the internet, so After Death Creation is being pushed back at least six months.
    Very sorry.

    Status update

Still alive! So is the story. Trying to write when I can, it just really feels like a chore and I have to force myself. :ajsleepy: That's what I get for 300+ page chapters I then decide to re-write. :rainbowlaugh: I did win a snazzy new icon of Arachnos by the artist who does all my art! Hope you are all doing well and are staying safe this season! Hope you're still alive as well!

    Rewrite Incoming

    Still alive!
Going to do a slight rewrite of the last 4 chapters and post a new one to make up for it.
It's a minor enough rewrite that it shouldn't take long to repost the chapters, but don't hold your breath just in case. :twilightsheepish:
The reason is because I would like Arachnos to be Asexual again rather than gay. Otherwise, it should be all the same.

I'm also very stressed out by my story After Death, Creation. I want to rewrite the chapter with Calvin to be an AroAce QPR, but I keep being very stressed out by it to the point people are marking the story as Dead again.

I'm also in the middle of about 12 more projects, and trying to learn to drive, so my stories take a serious back burner.

I could use some opinions in the comments section.

Thanks.

don't delete the account, take a break if u want to

ppl are fine with stories being delayed

Deleting an account is a rather spiteful action to yourself and everyone else. People enjoyed your work, it's your most popular story.
If you just want to leave, then you can, and if you don't want the emails or notifications, then I think you can disable those in your profile somewhere. You're not obligated to finish anything, but removing all your work so noone can enjoy them seems a bit severe. And what if you change your mind? You'll have nothing to come back to and have to redo everything (unless you kept backups somewhere)

As for people waiting on stories to be updated, I've seen stories go 7 years without an update, and then get several in a row. Always a welcome surprise when that happens.

Don't worry, just take a break. We all can be patient. Just don't stress yourself out too much. Just do the best you can. That's all we can ask for.

Anyway, good luck.

Will you regret deleting all your work?
Sounds like you may need a break from everything

Ive never seen eye to eye with the reasonings of deleting an account for anything, really.

Either you're tired with a story or community, angry and spiteful over a disagreement, embarrassed over what you may have said, written or read, being willfully petty and obtuse, or burnt out; with your priorities or time changing to something else.

Unless you've made a "big-time gonna have it hanging over your name oopsie"- I cant really agree with deleting an account, burying it, and pretending it never existed.

Just kinda seems self defeating of your past self's choices.

Obviously I suggest keeping your account- If for no other reason than to be able to go through your favorites list down the road and finding a story you liked from way-back-when.

Literally nothing is stopping you from leaving things as they are, going and doing something else, and coming back 10 years from now in a fit of nostalgia, and I think you'll appreciate being able to look back at the people, events, and stories you enjoyed, hated, and bitched about.

In all honesty, I don't suggest deleting your account.

I've seen some fics where the author returned 4-5 years later with new chapters and edits, so don't feel pressured to put any arbitrary release date in your mind.

You have other projects? Go nuts, do those. Keep doing those if they make you happy. You are not obligated to put out pony content for us.

But please leave your stories up, let people read them even if they are unfinished. Maybe, someone will get inspired by it and take a stab at finding their own narrative paths with a similar premise.

Deleting it only destroys the work you've put into those stories.

Please don't delete your account, I can guarantee that people will miss you and your wonderful stories if you do.
If you feel like you need to take a break and step away from your account for a big amount of time to work on other projects or even just to take a break and rest your mind that's fine take as much time as you need.

Deleting a channel only gives all grief, a inactiv Author still gives joy to readers.

After Death: Creation.

Now that is a story which held my attention.
I liked your idea of "hoof fingers" and how you made them work. The illustrations were a delightful addition.

You want feedback? Well it was probably the best Time Lord adaptation I have read on this site. The world expanded... characters grew... readers enjoyed it.

Could your stress from the story come from the changes you made in latter chapters? It seemed to take a radical shift of sorts. As though you wanted to drive the story up a different path. That arc with the Tiger character left me a little puzzled as we certainly weren't in Kansas Equestria anymore.

Before you write any more chapters, I think you need to decide how the story is going to progress.
Are we going to see our dear Arachnos continue life in Equestria? Or are we going to see him bounce between worlds and keep re-inventing himself (which is a little jarring, to be honest).

EDIT:
Just started re-reading the story. Three chapters in so far. While the "Anon dies and goes to Equestria" trope is common, you put a different spin on it. May the story stay true to itself.

I say it would be better take a break than outright deleting your account.

Just take a break. Most people are going to understand that you have a life. I dont consider myswlf much of a bront anymore either,i just like reading

Either take a break, or just leave it be.
People here are plenty patient

Sorry, been super busy working the past week, I didn't really have a chance to go through these wonderful responses. Thank you all so much. Your replies really helped me and my worries. :twilightblush: I will be keeping the account and working on the story as I have time! :rainbowdetermined2:

People seem really divided on the chapter with Calvin because *cough*furry content*cough* and it is a major departure from Equestria and the tone of the story. Aside from that, some people did like how kind Calvin was and how mercilessly I punched them in the feels. 😈 I'm honestly not sure if I should keep it and make it less gay, or just remove it entirely.
I do like Arachnos realizing someone can like him for him, and it would have influenced the rest of the story, but it's easy enough to rewrite it out entirely without losing too much of the overall plot. It was very much a side story meant for Arachnos to experience love and loss and grow from both.

Thank you for not deleting your account.
I have always loved the story and all the ways it moved me and my heart.
As with so many others I believe that you don't have to stick to any kind of release timeline, just write when you can, make it something you love, and all of us who read it will love it as well.

As for the Calvin chapters maybe you could make it and any other side stories there own story.
Arachnos uses time travel in the main story, maybe he can look at other timelines but can not interfere with them.. or something. Hence the side story posts.
I hope my post sees you well and thank you for creating such a beautiful world/universe for us to read and see in our heads.
