Eros up next but C&C is not forgotten... · 5:23pm January 18th
The last release was a success, picking up one new like and a slew of additional tracks, so a warm welcome to new readers! Hope you enjoy the story, both what's already written and going forward. I typically blog about my stories, both to keep readers up to date on release schedules and what to expect in them going forward.
As far as Feathered Hearts goes, a new entry of Eros is up next. I’ve got all these words already written for it, so it’d be a little ridiculous not to finish a chapter of it first, but don't worry: I’m already planning the next chapter of Continuation and Chronicles in my head. It will include a significant amount of borrowed text from the original story for the first time in a while (pulled from chapter 10), but the main scene will be Gilda attending a Council of War which catches her up—and thus the reader—on the overall situation the Kingdom faces. Expect Firefly-style battle and campaign maps to feature prominently as well. They’re a lot of work to make, definitely, but worth it in the end.
Readers of the original story may recall that Gilda bore the rank of Sub-Tribune by chapter 10 and found that she had inherited command of Aricia when the previous Captain was killed, leaving her the ranking officer. Obviously, that's not happened here, but going forward...? Well, she ain't ready to command a city and she knows it. But that isn't to say that a certain somecreature else we’ve already met couldn't if and when the time comes.
If you think that's foreshadowing, so be it. I'm also planning on a funeral service followed by getting them settled in their new barracks with their griffon allies. Needless to say, they're going to be a little surprised by discovering the griffies actually use communal Roman-style bathhouses, though they’re thankfully *slightly* more sanitary than those of ancient Rome. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ancient_Roman_bathing
Given the reputation of Roman bathhouses, is that an opportunity for M-rated shenanigans? Possibly, but not right away, and definitely not the main emphasis for now. We've had our fun, and it'll be time to get back to business as they and the Cloven make plans.
Oh yes, and it's time to pick up one other loose end from earlier in the story. Don't think I've forgotten about the text Chris received from Starlight Glimmer, folks. I promise to address that soon. Possibly even next chapter if I find a good spot for it.

Attacking multible points for maximum chaos and keeping everyone in the defense as to prevent one side giving uncontested assistance.

The mixed bathing might be something the changlings pushed for from the shades, to have a place in every military installation, to get some love in a pinch.
