C&C chapter 38 will launch Thursday night · 4:44pm January 10th
Final preread is in—thanks, Silverblade5. So all that’s left is a final editing pass followed by creating the T-rated version. It shouldn’t actually be much shorter than the regular one, as sex does not take center stage here.
Expect the 13,000-word chapter to move at a brisk pace, starting with a recap of events in Eros. Aside from the adult aspects and reviewing some of what was learned about Changeling culture and history, you’ll learn what agreement was finally struck between Cipio and Gilda.
The first fruits of that agreement are soon implemented in the form of our favorite griffie girl being assigned new troops, who aren’t exactly happy to be there. You’ll then get to see how she deals with their resentment along with our two Archons, who will appear in their “true” griffon personas for the first time. With regards to the latter, you’ll also get some sense of their different personalities and proclivities. Needless to say, they have a friendly rivalry going.
This is just the first chapter of a new arc where a series of progressively bigger events are planned, many of which will be drawn from the original story. I’ll start incorporating content from it again next chapter. And if you want something to look forward to, the next C&C chapter after this one will include Firefly-style campaign maps as Gilda attends a Council of War. It’s there she (along with the readers) will finally be caught up to speed on the progress of the Cloven invasion, and the overall situation the Kingdom faces.
As far as Eros goes, I have 23,000 words written of the next entry in the new arc that I’m still trying to turn into a new chapter or three. I’ll be working on finishing at least one more chapter of it next. When not directly explained, you’ll at least have some hints of what happened in Eros here in C&C.
