Pink Scorch #2 - Action Preview

Pink Scorch stepped forth just as the beast, much like herself, took on a new form. Its body had a weird egg-shape with stout legs. When it turned to face her, four iridescent eyes glowered at her. It opened a ring-shaped mouth, revealing rows upon rows of teeth, and its tongue shot out.

    Scary stuff going on rn

The part of Texas that I live in is currently experiencing the 2nd worst wildfire disaster, and growing. Over 850,000 acres have been burned, and several towns/cities close to me have been evacuated. The fire's spread slowed down, just as it was about to hit a neighboring city, although an entire subdivision was forced to evacuate.

The fire is visible from my hometown.

    So, where's Pink Scorch #2?

Hey there! February is almost over, and I said before that I will be releasing the new Pink Scorch by the end of the month. This will be a multi-chapter story with a fully developed plot and new characters. So, what's the progress on it?

    Around 7,000 words.

Help me not go homeless · 12:47am Oct 22nd, 2023

The following is verbatim of what is written on the GoFundMe page.

Early this year, I started a job that paid well beyond what I was used to as a retail worker. It was an amazing job for only a few weeks before I was asked to move positions. Agreeing to be moved turned out to be a terrible decision on my part. The hours were thrown around constantly, which didn't help with my insomnia. It was a fast-paced environment, and most days I would show up already tired from the previous. The job became so stressful that I started neglecting my life outside of work, from cleaning and all the way down to my eating habits. I brought this up with my boss, but they were unwilling to move me back to my old position. Eventually, it became too much for me and I quit.

That may not have been the best decision -- even if it was better for my mental health -- since I didn't have money to fall back on. I was able to pay this month's rent, but now I have zero dollars to my name and a job opportunity hasn't risen up yet. All I ask is for a little bit of help while I struggle to get back on my feet.

The money you donate will be used to pay rent, buy groceries, and pay for gas so that I have a means of transportation. Transportation equals more job opportunities. The apartments I live in are sliding scale, meaning rent goes up or down based on how much I make annually. As it stands, I am paying $725 for rent. HOWEVER, this recent job paid so much that my rent will be raised to $1,091. This hasn't happened for three months, but the apartment manager says it will happen eventually.

Even if you're only able to donate a dollar, you'll at least feed me, and for that, I'm very thankful.

The donation goal has been updated. Read dis to learn more about why.

That's fucked up. The apartment manager shouldn't be raising your rent because of a new job. Sharing.

That's what sliding scale is. Since my old job paid a lot, that means I have to pay more for rent. It's how people with low income can afford a nice place within their annual salary. The problem is, I started this job right around the time I also signed the new lease, so I might be locked into paying the full thousand. Hopefully I won't have to because they still haven't raised it to that much yet. Thanks for sharing tho!
