Hey, everypony!
This is just my updated blog about my latest progress on the new chapter of EqG: StH2 story.
I know it has been...
*checking the most recent chapter date*
...a month and four days since the newest chapter. 
Things were busy for me this past month. With the combination of my busy life schedule and lack of motivation, the progress on writing the next new chapter has slowed to a crawl. I also admitted to taking a small break from writing to prevent myself from burning out, which is the last thing I wanted to do as I'm writing this story. 
Nevertheless, I apologize to everyone for my lack of updates about the current state of this story, and I'm currently back in writing in full swing. 
The next chapter is not finished yet, but I will try my best to not delay it any further. 
I will let you all know when the next chapter is ready but until then, I hope you all stick around!

Just asking out of curiosity, but is the likelihood of a EQG/Knuckles spin-off high or low?

I have yet to watch the Knuckles show before I make a decision. For now, I have no plans for an EqG/Knuckles spin-off story at this time, but that doesn't mean that the idea is completely off the table.
So we'll see.
