Figuring out Cadance · 1:18am Aug 7th, 2023
I feel awful that I am sort of delaying the continuation and subsequent conclusion of QOTD, but writing Cadance's chapter is like beginning a whole new fic. Which is almost true, because I want her to have a prominent storyline for many chapters, and it needs to be set up properly.
So here is the little anecdote about her life that definitely should've happened in canon.
Once upon a time, a pair of ferocious dragons kidnapped her into the mountains with the intent to eat her (or demand ransom for her, at least, all in classical draconic fashion), and while Shining Armor raced to save her, she figured out that the dragons could be reconciled with each other, and have much more fulfilling lives. So, some relationship advice followed, then a couple of nudges in the right direction and lending a listening ear, and viola. When her knight finally arrived, she leapt into his hooves all by herself, having bested the beasts in her own unique way.
And that is Cadance, right? She just can be sharp-witted and combative when the need arises, too. Stay tuned, dear readers.
I might even rename the fic later into 'The Queen of Love', haven't decided it yet. I won't

Judging by this anecdote, Cadance would do well in Undertale with all the "talk to your opponents instead of fighting them" thing it has going on. :D
Handle her well. She deserves so much more.
