I'm going to take a small breather while writing the epilogue and getting into the headspace that is required for certain characters, so I want to talk to you about the future of this writing project.
So, what's next?
Hiatus!

He-hey, I simply want to pop up to say that I am still alive and kicking. Life is not a fun stroll these past months and writing about soul-searching stuff is getting increasingly harder, so I'd be glad to make something more lighthearted when it is done.
But until then -- I am not finished. I need to work through it. I want to stick to what I have outlined.
"Is your intent to stare me down, powerful Sun demigoddess?" The Queen cackled. "Or maybe you're just not good at this? Guess not much practice during the past hundreds of years, is there?"
"And maybe you shouldn't be speaking so boldly, Queen of the Changelings," Celestia scoffed with a fiery look. "You're quite audacious for a mere beast."
"You know, you ponies are the perfect predators."
"Uh... Thanks, I guess?"
"Yes, I hate it. I hate your big round eyes, colorful bushy manes, curious little ears, and especially these soft tummies," the Queen said, touching the pony's stomach with a jagged hoof.
The asker giggled: "I'm ticklish!"
"Absolutely disgusting. You might be the only reason felines haven't dominated the world yet."
"You mean our little pets?"
I feel awful that I am sort of delaying the continuation and subsequent conclusion of QOTD, but writing Cadance's chapter is like beginning a whole new fic. Which is almost true, because I want her to have a prominent storyline for many chapters, and it needs to be set up properly.
So here is the little anecdote about her life that definitely should've happened in canon.
Kicking around ideas and approaches for the next few pieces of writing, I've realized that, since it will be from Cadance's perspective, I really need to find not only a character voice for her but an actual cadence in writing. Also to flesh out her character further 😒
I had no idea the fandom praises Summer Solstice this way, but it seems like a good cause to spoil a bit of one of next chapters for QOTD. Maybe I will make something specifically for this day next time, if I stick around 😀
Happy holidays, I guess
It happened at night.
"A children's book? About me? How odd." Celestia lowered her powerful body, looking thoughtful.
Twilight's response was a bashful smile. They still didn't know each other very well.
