"I have become Death, the Destroyer of Worlds." or How I stopped worrying and found the Barbenheimer Pony. · 2:15am Jul 29th, 2023
There is this trend on Twitter going on right now, called "Barbenheimer". A combination of two movies; "Oppenheimer" and a new "Barbie" movie. It makes jokes about how two movies with such diverging moods have been released in cinemas on the same date.
Today, just a few hours ago, I was in the cinema myself and watched "Oppenheimer". I normally don't watch non-pony movies (at least not alone, watching one together with my friend is something that happens here and there, cause she's not always in the mood for ponies + she has fascinating and intelligent views on everything and it's always a bright spectacle for the senses to hear her commenting on a movie), but I figured that, considering the current situation in this world and for the sake of being prepared, it couldn't hurt to watch this movie and to see if I can get an info or learn something from it that could be helpful against a nuclear threat worst case scenario later. I soak up information related to this like a sponge since last year, because the current situation involving Ukraine, Russia and China (+ rising tensions between North Korea and South Korea and between Turkey and Greece), that's filled to the brim with potential for complete escalation, isn't something to joke with and has brought humanity closer to a World War III than it ever was before. And I couldn't wait six months to watch "Oppenheimer" online, of course, because by then, the nuclear deterrence might not be a deterrence anymore, but have become an encouragement instead. So into the cinema I went (and had to find out that prices for cinema tickets have skyrocketed, doing that was a luxury I am not supposed to afford).
I got what I hoped for by watching this movie, something that took most of the remaining fear of the worst case scenario away, and has made me much more calm about it. But I also got something else from it, something even more important, when I had a certain epiphany in the theatre.....
Death, the Destroyer of Worlds..... Wasn't there something? Oh, yeah, there was. And I just tagged this blog entry with it.
"And Flurry Heart is the Destroyer of Worlds" I was thinking while watching and then it clicked. Flurry Heart is the Barbenheimer Pony. Think about it.
.
.
Flurry Heart's magic is extremely destructive. One sneeze and she blows a hole into a ceiling made of solid crystals:

.
And not even one hole, oh no. Several holes. Through several ceilings. Flurry Heart's magical blast went through three floors of the Crystal Empire Castle before it finally fizzled out. And she was only a newborn baby when she did that. When she is older, she can probably blow away entire continents.
Here are some edited examples to illustrate that:

Of course Flurry Heart doesn't have to sneeze for that. Eventually, she will have control over that power and be able to use it whenever she wants. And maybe, one day, there will be other ponies (or zebras?) who want to use Flurry's power, too..... By now, you will catch my drift. Flurry Heart is the pony version of J. Robert Oppenheimer.
But Flurry Heart is also something else. And that is pink. Her coat is pink and her wings are pink. And where is pink the dominating color? Correct.
What conclusion does that bring us to?
J. Robert Oppenheimer Pony Version + Color Pink = Barbenheimer Pony Version
And there you have it. Flurry Heart is Barbenheimer ponified. She is the Barbenheimer Pony.
Stay easy as a filly!

If Flurry is ponified Oppenheimer, who is ponified Edward Teller?

Cozy Glow. She has the intelligence needed for very complex, scientific thoughts. She also craves power, but doesn't want to kill or harm other ponies. Edward Teller has shown an implied interest in power, but not taking lives, as he advocated that the atomic bomb should be used as a demonstration to Japan, but not be detonated in a japanese town. Wikipedia also describes him as having a volatile personality and Cozy Glow is quite volatile, too. Cozy is the perfect match for a ponification of Edward Teller.

Now I wonder who Cozy's partner in crime is. Who is her Stanisław Ulam?
