A Few Abandoned Story Ideas · 7:27am Jul 6th, 2023
Hello everyone!
I hope you all enjoyed the Chrysalis trilogy! I certainly had a wonderful time making it! Now that it's done, though, I'm going to spend some time doing a few more one-shots. I came up with quite a few ideas while writing the trilogy, including "If You Can't Take the Heat," which I released yesterday. There are more coming, so please look forward to them! In the meantime, I thought it would be fun to share some stuff that I usually just delete. You see, to get my creative juices flowing before a writing session, I will sometimes brainstorm a handful of new plots and jot down some titles. I know that I will never write the vast majority of them, but the process of doing so has proven to be an effective method of getting my writing muscles ready, so to speak. Plus, once in a blue moon, I end up turning one of the ideas into a full-blown story. I was going through some old ones and picked out a few stand-outs that gave me a chuckle, and I thought that perhaps they'll do the same for you! Here are just a few "rejected story ideas" that you probably shouldn't expect me to ever revisit, haha!

I have a head canon (really in my opinion objective fact. Though, people really don't want to write about Spike so...nill.) His pony care taker's don't treat him very well and that alway's feel's a little to odd to me. So your idea Spike has a good lawyer vibes with my many Spike-centric plot's float in my brain because their just are not enough fic's dealing with that topic in long form, interesting way without just stopping ending or really short and instanta forgivy which (sigh) not a vibe. I want consquences! That stick! So...I must write! For the good Spike fic's that could be! sparkle sparkle shine. Lol. I could work with a lawyer character in one of my Spike story ideas. Great ideas, dude!
Between the habits of humans and ponies is a slightly problem. Which is why we learn from storytelling. Through an unknown world with ton of land culture (mythical) creatures, to solve a center human's minor problem.
So, are you just showing us some fic ideas that you've abandoned, or are we free to adopt these as we see fit?
Sunset, Your Relationship with that Boy is Problematic
by the title itself sounds like a story for Flash Sentry from the perspective of pony universe Twilight, disliking the union between the two on her second visit.
I know that you will roll your eyes at this, however anytime Queen Chrysalis is presented with a potential reformation perspective I love her, she's the absolute best character. Obviously if she stays as changeling hitler ehhhhhhhh however when she is willing to be reformed, best character. It's the same with Luna, if she remains as Nightmare Moon who cares. But when she is willing to return to Luna she's great.

Nothing would make me happier than Luna getting a fucking moment 37 on her, then going Nightmare Moon on the venue
I feel like if you won’t write these anytime soon, you could probably send these to Burt. Some of these seem right up their alley.

The title stemmed from me just going "hmm maybe these full-grown adults shouldn't be considering a relationship with a high school boy."
Meanwhile, I sort of agree with characters like Chrysalis. That's kind of the nature of their characters; they're villains. You could argue that Nightmare Moon is technically a villain against her will, but characters like Chrysalis don't really work in that weird middle ground. In my eyes, either she's working on getting reformed, or she's the bad guy. Otherwise it feels like she's OOC, but that's just my opinion, I'm sure other, more talented writers could make something work.
