OK, so... I'm reading through Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone for the umpteenth time when I spot this.
Chapter 14: The cut had turned a nasty shade of green. It looked like Norbert's fangs were poisonous.
I will have to admit that when I read through this the first time I was much younger and didn't catch it. Surprisingly it never got caught in editing. OK, for those who might be a little confused, here's an easy way to keep poisonous straight from venomous.
If you bite it and you get sick and or die, it was poisonous. If it bites you and you get sick and or die... it's venomous.
One would think that an accomplished writer like JKR would have known the difference.
