    The heraldry of Ravenclaw

Once upon a time Heraldry had been a hobby of mine.

OK, so this bit of rambling was inspired by speculation about the Ravenclaw heraldic blazon. Originally the shield was described as a bronze eagle on a blue field.

Blue and gold? Or is it blue and brown? Not to mention considerable division as to if it's an eagle or a raven.

    What did I write?

OK, so I'm reading through an abandoned story when I find this:

“Do you know how to use a toilet?”

“Ah, you sit, do yer business, and then pull the leaver.”

    “Which one?”

“Which one?” Cirrus had never heard of a toilet with more than one lever on it. Looking at what she presumed to be the toilet found that it looked a bit like a captains chair with multiple buttons.

    What links the Deathly Hallows.

OK, so I was watching a video on fan theories and thought I'd share one of my comments here. One theory is that Harry's Invisibility Cloak was a piece of the Veil... which really makes no sense to my way of thinking. They were also speculating on the connection between the three hallows.

What links the Deathly Hallows. · 12:54am February 21st

OK, so I was watching a video on fan theories and thought I'd share one of my comments here. One theory is that Harry's Invisibility Cloak was a piece of the Veil... which really makes no sense to my way of thinking. They were also speculating on the connection between the three hallows.

I doubt the invisibility cloak is from the Veil. The strongest argument against it being part of the Veil is that Ron immediately recognized what it was. "If that's what I think it is — they're really rare, and really valuable." So despite what many sources say, it's not likely a one of a kind item, with one possible exception. The most common textile is said to be woven from Demiguise fur. That said, I've always assumed that what makes that robe special is the same thing that links it to the wand. In short, it's made from the hair of a Thestral. Possibly even the same animal that provided the hair for the wand. As for the connection to the stone, what if the stone was a bezoar from the same animal. Bezoars can occur in many animals and in humans as well so it's not unreasonable to think one might be found in a Thestral. What links it all to death is the fact that they must have experienced death and understood to be able to see a Thestral.

What gets me is the idea that apparently no one has ever suggested this.

Note: the veil is the execution veil/portal in the lower levels of the ministry.

Part of the theory is that the three brothers made the hallows themselves.

Keep in mind that if the theory is true, then it's death that makes it possible for the brothers to see Thestrals.

As for the bezoar. I looked up what a bezoar was when I was looking for things to have Aerie antagonize Snape with.

“A bezoar is a stony concretion that forms in the stomach of animals, typically ruminants which include cattle, sheep, goats, buffalo, deer, elk, giraffes, and camels. They can occur in any mammalian species including unicorns as well as people.”

if you go just from the book death created the three hollows.

and it is funny that you talk about bezoar . my grand father had cows for 70 years and i was up digging around in the attack just yesterday and found a jar of stones that my mother is telling me were found in the cows stomach when butchering.
it was the kids job to clean the guts for casings the the one who found the stone got to keep it.
when the farm was sold after my grand parents death back in 1990 or around there this jar was found and some how it ended up here.

i will be keeping it and passing it on to my kids or grand kids lol if i have any.

People used to set those stones in rings. Just in case. ;)
