I write too much too little for no reason. Now I'm off to hyperfixate on detailing that bush.

Happy Third Anniversary, The Stereotypical Necromancer!

It's been three whole years since I started writing! Woohoo! All that time wasted thinking about ponies! :pinkiehappy:

    Jinx, where ya been?

Hiya! How's tricks? Are you doing well?

Sorry I've not been around or writing much for, like, a month. I put out a side story a 'lil while ago, but it's honestly not my best work. You can go read it if you haven't, but I can do better—and I should've done better. It's just that writing has been... a tenuous activity for me for awhile now.

What it says on the tin!

Just thought I'd give a 'lil heads up, since I'm anticipating total completion of the chapter in the next few days. Three, tops. i've said stuff like that before. hedge your bets, 'cause it might take four

A freaky dream, and the continuation of The Stereotypical Necromancer!

So, I'm guessing there's one of those two things you're probably more interested in, yeah?

Well, too bad! I'm talking about the dream I had last night, first! :rainbowwild:

Chapter now- or later? · 9:29pm Mar 18th, 2023

Hey guys/gals/other, I've got a quick question for anyone awake enough to answer.

Would you prefer a ~4k word chapter posted literally right now, or a ~7k word chapter posted in... around two to three days? When I posted the last chapter, I had the chapter I'm sitting on now finished at 4k words, but then I decided to expand on it by tacking on the next little bit of the story.

Problem is: that next little bit- while it may technically be finished- is more of a draft than a finished product. I'd like to take a little more time until I'm struck by creative mediocrity so I can make everything a little more impactful, but that sort of flies in the face of what I'd said about more chapters in a shorter time.

Making this decision on my own, I would've kept the chapters together, and just taken a few days to shore up the scenes so it doesn't read like a sixth grader's essay on feelings, but I wanted to get your opinion. Either way, the part I'm unsure of is going to be made better, but the rest of it is already completely done. I even wrote the two parts in specific, sectioned junctions so that I could split them up if I wanted.

The first 4k words is pretty perfect as-is, but it's a little dull. It's the last 3k that I consider to be more compelling, which is why I had wanted to package them together. It's not that it's boring- It's just not as exciting. It won't be disjointed, either- I wrote them specifically so I could split them up.

So, what do you think? 4k words now, and the chapter after likely coming in a similar-ish timeframe? 7k coming in just a few days, with the chapter after probably taking... like a week? Faster gratification, or heartier chapters? Tell me; I will make it so.

My heart says now, my brain says later.

Would rather wait for a good chapter then rush out a bad one, make with that as you will

If you feel like it'll be better together then I can wait a few days.

Just do your thing.

Personally, I could wait. I am tracking multiple stories now that would usually have at least one story updated per day

Too late, I saw this when it was posted but I didn't respond, because as I opened my feed I was like "BIIIIGGG MONEY NOOOOO WAMMY'S" so my heart as telling me yes, but as the response above states, my brain is tellin me "noooooo wait until it's longer and goated" I literally love every chapter you post, I don't want this to devolve into just basic slice of life, but I understand it won't be such a huge arc for the next big chapter of the story. I would just like it all to come to some point.

Now is when I start going into drunk posting, ignore if you don't care. I have been randomly going blind in my left eye, I'm worried it means I'll die soon or something. I want to BOTH make youtube videos AND write a story on fimfiction, I have all these ideas but I can't get myself to open the program to start writing, even if I have 30 minutes of writing lefton the video, maybe 2 hours on the recording, and 5 hours on the editing. I have nearly 20k views on the last video, and yet I still hesitate because I'm worried it won't do as well. Even though I know it's better than the last, A similar concern follows me when I want to write on here, if it doesn't get views it's not good enough, but instead of risking rejection I just halt all potential progress. I don't want a pity party, and yet I'm writing this response. IDK, if I write something and it's good like it and if it's dogshit please let me know. If you find my youtube channel and I release a new project zomboid video and you like it, etc. etc. if you don't etc. etc.

I love this story, it took me to dark mental places and I love that. It gave different characterisations than you normally see and that was awesome, I love taking a known format and making it your own, you have done that. Overall, 10/10, 100/100 great story. I'd be down to become an editor if you were looking for one. I would only work when sober and I'm sober before 10pm

i can wait

Okay, you posted the first part, now where is the second? :pinkiecrazy:
