A pony of mystery in the darkness. Or I forgot to take the lens cap off. (They/them is fine.)

Example of How Some Story Contests on fimfiction.net Could Allow Script Format by Permitting Entries to Be Posted to Blogs: "Interspecies Romance, A Scandal in One Act" · 6:12am Mar 12th, 2023

Author's Note

"This script is an entry for the 'Arboreal Yearnings Story Contest I' (this text is a link.)" But that isn't true! This is just a FORMAT EXAMPLE, NOT a real contest entry!

Also, scripts may follow a good script format, which might not be THIS script format.

(My Stinky Play, Not a Good One Like Real Contest Entrants Would Write)

DRAMATIS PERSONAE

Scootaloo (a filly; has an inordinate attraction to tree sap)
Spike Drake (a dragonling; old enough to have a crush, too young to be sure what to do about it)

SETTING and TIME

As you like it.

ACT I, SCENE I

SCOOTALOO

I think that I shall never see
A pony lovely as a tree.

SPIKE

I've seen one pony quite as fair
Though a Rarity I'd call that mare.

(Imitation tree sap falls from ceiling, drenching audience.)

THE END

SPECIAL ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS AND THANKS

This play includes lines which directly parody a (now public domain) poem by Joyce Kilmer. We thank the Joyce Kilmer estate for not suing us, and the signatories to the Berne Convention for permitting the original verse to fall into the public domain.

How about a petition to knighty to allow scripts again? Aside from the fact that I think banning things because they're too popular is contrary to the nature of fan-fiction, I think they were banned erroneously. People weren't writing modern scripts; they were writing stories that were nothing but line of dialog. Which I still think is fine, if you can make it work.
