Kinda funny mused the voices in their shared head space, noone even tried to name the dragon yet.
She herself had yet to think about what name she wanted for herself, but she actually didn't even know how she looked like fully.
She would seek out a mirror once she had a chance to do so, without missing out of pony pillow time.
The Apples expected more ponies to come by over the next days, but outside occasional health checks and minor medical scanning did only the feeding of the dragon caused the occasional new ponies to visit the newest member of the Apple family in their appointed hospital room.
The Apple family members argued about giving her a name, but they had no idea what a traditional dragon name looked like.
If there was one pony clan that respected traditional naming and custums, than it was the Apple family. Well also the Pie family, but that was a can of gems and stones noone wanted to open if it could be avoided.
So they keep the nameless little dragon unnamed and referred to her as 'dawww your so cute' or 'awww she really likes to nibbel on your tail', occasionally even
'Oooo for the love of Celestias flaming tits - she set my mane on fireAAA'.
Other than that, it was a surprisingly mellow week of cuddling and nuzzeling the dragon welp on Silver Tongues recommendations.
Celestia had organized helpers for the farm to keep it running smoothly, while everypony on the Farm on the Princess decree made sure that the hatchling imprinted on them as their family.
Additional military forces build a extending to the guard barracks and filled it ranks with experienced guard ponies.
Even 20 royal guard ponies of the castle got stationed for the little front village near the Everfree forest.
Ponyville certainly seem to get a lot of attention from the Princess of the Sun and some Nobel family's tried to find out what was so important a small village that royal guard support was provided.
When Celestia told them how Timberwolfs attacked the Apple family that was caring for the Apple orchard that provided all of Canterlot with Apples, did everypony agreed that royal guard had to guarantee that Canterlot number one supplier of Equestrias only Zap jam Apple producers had to be protected.
To the royal princess surprise did the 'rich clan' with its head of house 'Filthy Rich' and his new fiance 'Spoiled Milk' moved to Ponyville. They take 10 injury related retired Royal Guard into their services and started to train the usualy mediocre trained Village guards ponies under their own budget. They vowed to protect the Canterlot Nobel family's supply of highest produce of the Apple family safe and would keep the threat of the Everfree Forest at bay for the greater good.
Celestias spys could not find any ties to illegal or suspicious activities to the 'Rich clan'. There for their intentions was most likely gaining more support and probably hoped to raise their Nobel status from 5th to 4th grade nobel pony.
The 5th rank was the lowest that allowed pony family's to gain tax reduction and other perks granted by the crown.
Now a days it was rather rare to see somepony earning more prestigious ranking through hard and honest work, instead of buying it off some house in decline or marriage.
Celestias spy network if needed would support the 'Rich clan' from the shadows to aid the Apples further.
Maybe they finally find a lead to who created the dragon hatchling and she could start to hunt the responsible parties down to the last members of their family.
Corruption of that scale was not to be underestimated and would be made a example off!
When the dragon with her more or less ever present company woke up the next morning on the day the princess and the scientists would return, did a well known to the hatchling orange filly with emerald eyes stare at her in childish curiosity when it would be time for another round of tongue wrestling.
The dragon welp had made it a daily routine to fight off the orange filly into submission.
The red colt already had learned to surrender before the tongue wrestling ended in tummy tickeling.
The adults had become accustomed to this routine and started betting on how long the welp needed to defeat their darling daughter in tongue to hoove combat.
A gurgling of delight escaped welp and filly when the next epic fight 'adorable' versus 'absolutely diabolical cuteness' would start.
By now even the nurses not on call and off shift guard started to stay a little longer to witness the event.
When one day a snack vendor started to organize betting pools with sweets for the losing participants of the bets, was a new harmless gamble tradition was born.
"Hello Mayor Mare, congratulations on your first election to the Ponyville leader." Bright Mac said and the mare burst into giggles when the stallion compliment the brand new head of Village.
His wife Butter Cup to her surprise followed the stallions lead and mayor mare wondered why nopony had told her the perks of being elected the Ponyville mayor when the Apples nibbeld the poor poor new mayors ears into submission.
Her predecessor had warned her that the Apples had a hoove for negotiation and trade, but she had no idea why he had always smirked towards her when he had mentioned it in passing.
Moving from Manehatten to the little Village of Ponyville was the best decision of her life.
The Apples chuckled as they see how they managed to nibbel the new mayor mare into submission even before the dragon welp had managed to tickel their foal into defeat.
By the time Celestia of the Sun and her followers of knowledge arrived, did no trace of the gambling or the epic fight adorable versus absolutely diabolical cuteness remained.
With exception of their in giggles twitching orange filly and the tongue tied dragon welp.
That one was new...

The dragon welp recovered faster and was wobbly walking towards Granny Smith who was busy straight out the young colts wild mane into something resembling a mane.
Celestia had actually no idea what peeked her more interested:
- The Dragon hatchling using it sharp looking but blunt willed tail weapon to climb up the standing elderly mare.
- The 'Mayor Mare' that keep twitching on the ground while the Apple clan tried to hide their involvement in
'negotiations of the pleasurable nature'.
Celestia was quite amused.
The research party behind her was confused.
The dragon hatchling was climbing the Apple family oldest mares head to stand on it like a kitten that got the bird.
The orange filly of the Apple clan had stopped giggling, but was still twitching away at the hospital room floor.
Eventually did the new mayor mare stood up but her legs were a little wobbly. When she noticed the Princess of Equestria smirking down on her, did she excused herself with a red head that resembeld Big Macintosh fur coat color.
When they heard the door closing, did Celestias followers already started to approach the dragon welp of 8 days. Silver Tongue untangled the dragons tongue knot and remarked that he would probably retire into Ponyville if they had at least one more pink haired mare in the Village.
Celestia remarked that she had once pink hair before the night of her sisters Nightmaremoon and Luna incident that got them accidentally banished to the Moon for a thousand years.
With exception of the still twitching Applejack filly one could have hear a needle drop to the ground.
It was Applejack's father 'Bright Mac' and his wife named 'Butter Cup' who broke the silence:
"Anyyywaaayyy-" started 'Butter Cup', "It is time for you to inform us how we will continue to proceed or at least fake a idea how we are to continue to raise our newest family members darling to your satisfaction."
