    Well, color me impressed.

All 78 episodes on 2 discs, the translation is just as solid as the Hulu version, the subtitles are on by default, and they even translated the mid-episode character cards.

So I've been busy away from ponies... Again...

With my quest/race to get a Rainbow S on all of Freedom Planet 2's stages, my creativity lit up like a bonfire again, and I started crafting an alternate ending of sorts for the past week.

That story is now complete, and posted in its entirety over on AO3.

Well, it happened. Oh well. · 4:22pm Feb 9th, 2023

Accidentally tripped over spoilers for Hogwarts Legacy last night. That was always a risk when I didn't vanish from social media for however long it takes me to beat the game.

But I'm not as mad or disappointed as I thought I would be. I'm just imagining that my character had a vision and he's not sure what to make of it.

I'm too busy enjoying this passionately-crafted love letter to the Wizarding World. Ten hours in, I stepped onto my broom for the first time, and I haven't felt that giddy since I drove the Halo 1 warthog for the first time.

And to those in the LGBT community who have been harassing, bullying, and spoiling a story for others just because you didn't get your way:

I want you all to remember how you treated others when the community doesn't make as much forward progress, and you start finding fewer allies in the months and years to come.

I hope you remember, because a lot of other people will.

ANYONE who uses their minority status as a shield for bullying, doxxing, and just overall being an insufferable asshole, deserves neither sympathy or solidarity.

Period.

Rant over.

I'm inclined to agree. I'm tired of trying to play nice with professional victims and crybullies who're always claiming they're never more than one word away from suicidal depression.

Sorry folks, but I'm not sorry. Despite what Fortune Magazine puts out, Hogwarts Legacy is not a genocide simulator, and you aren't harmed in any way by people playing it. Your life is not put in danger by people liking Harry Potter.

Yeah I know people need to back off because my mom and my sister love the game so far and people like to ruin the fun for everyone like always :facehoof:

I'm kinda hoping there's a mod where you can kill absolutely everyone.

That and one where the wands are turned into guns.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollow-Point Bullets

Harry Potter, the Boy Who Wished You Would

ANYONE who uses their minority status as a shield for bullying, doxxing, and just overall being an insufferable asshole, deserves neither sympathy or solidarity.

For the record, most of us who boycott the product aren't bullying, doxxing, or being insufferable assholes. We just don't want to continue to fund the things Rowling has been doing lately.

You're absolutely free to enjoy the product, and I hope you do.

And I absolutely respect that. Boycotting should be something you do. Not harass or bully anyone else.

Glad you too are enjoying the game! I’m many hours in, but been exploring the lands (doing side quests, challenges, finding floo flame fast travel spots) so not TOO far into the main game; just last night I got the Room of Requirement.

Having tons of fun with this game!

That was one of the last main quests I've done too, so we're almost in the same spot.

5712894
Sweet! What level you at? Last I check, I was level 24 (so got boatloads of Talents).

5712896
Well I am at work (now on a meal), so I can’t play at the moment, but good luck with your questing!

Also not sure if you’ve seen this, but it sums up my feelings on the bullies going after people for playing this game.

Bingo. Because it's easy.

Internet slacktivism.

This whole backlash has gotten completely out of hand. Going onto someone's livestream to shout #TransRights over and over is not helping at all. Like seriously, how can people not get the harm this causes to the transgender community? Wired giving the game a 1/10. IGN getting called out by some "professional" gaming critics for giving the game a 9/10, despite their lame disclaimer. The transgender character not being good enough because she has Sir in her name and doesn't do much in the game, being dismissed as trying to deflect criticism away from the game. You can straight up make a transgender character and that's not good enough. Girlfriend Reviews gets harassed to the point of her crying on stream. A website that was briefly up to help track down who livestreamed the game. Justifying death threats, saying people deserve them for playing the game. Thegamer writing an article titled: "Let's Talk About Bullying People For Playing Hogwarts Legacy". Downplaying the clear examples of bullying done against anyone playing the game.

At what point do these people take a step back and think, maybe, just maybe they're overreacting to people playing a video game? Going around claiming the game will literally kill people or boost the rise of transphobia and TERFs. At this point, these transgender "activists" have done far more harm than good. They never ever acknowledge that they can help in the wrong ways. They think moral grandstanding is noble. It reeks of performative activism and I am beyond sick and tired of it. This doesn't make your side look right, it just makes your side look like bullies. Being an oppressed minority is not a shield for shitty behavior nor is being a minority automatically being oppressed.

I'm a transwoman that just wants to be left alone. These "activists" make that so much harder because it just reinforces negative stereotypes about transgender people. Who wants to stand with a group who wants you to not touch the franchise again or will justify harassment and death threats? A friend of one of my friends got into a big back and forth over this. I fear someone I known for about 5 years may bail on me if she sees me playing the game, not that it's going to stop me from doing so whenever I feel like it.

If people don't want to put even the tiniest amount of money in Rowling's pockets, that's fine, but then don't act like you're completely guilt free of ever giving any money to bigoted or awful people and organizations. Everyone's likely done it. Think about how much we don't know. Even if we just limit this to entertainment, I don't know how many bigots were on the dev teams of games I like to play. Any money sent to someone is not automatic endorsement of everything they say and do. Rowling is a billionaire, set for multiple lifetimes. She could make no more income again for the rest of her life and still be richer than most people ever would be. She's uncancelable.

Can't we just enjoy some damn escapism fantasy anymore? What happens if it comes out that one of the major creators of MLP is transphobic or something. Should we just give up the entire franchise including this website?

This is where we are as a society when we have people openly championing their fragility as if it's a strength that should be strived for and reveled in, and taking pride in telling others how they're never more than one word away from being sent into a hopelessly inescapable spin of suicidal depression they can never hope to escape from, all because someone address them in the incorrect fashion.

Everything, EVERYTHING gets interpreted as trying to kill you. Suddenly video games, everyday phrases, and basic scientific fact, all become as dangerous and life-threatening to you, as taking a trip down to Australia, running around the country stark naked, and trying to pet every single animal you encounter.

5712871
I agree with this statement. I've decided to remain neutral about the whole thing, and am hoping the name for the only trans character in the game was an accident that got overlooked in whatever sensitivity things these games undergo.

Milesprower, I do believe you could have worded your statement a bit differently, as it did originally catch me off-guard (partly because of course, as this is online we can't really voice tone in our sentences as well). But I also don't know the extent some people are going to to blacklist the game in the name of Trans Rights, so I assume you have the right to say this. Personally, I have nothing against the game itself, nor the story of Harry Potter, but I don't want to give Rowling more money because of what she's said about people like me in the past. But you can feel free to continue to enjoy the game, and I genuinely hope you have fun playing it

I hold no ill will towards anyone who opposes Rowling's opinions and politics. Because that's... Politics.

But when it comes to the Harry Potter franchise, quite a few activists think that it's completely okay to throw the baby out with the bathwater.

This franchise has meant so much to legions of kids and adults alike. Thousands upon thousands of people have contributed to the Wizarding World. It's Rowling's creation, yes. She continues to profit off of it, yes. But wanting to cancel it is beyond unrealistic.

In doing so, these activists are condemning:
- Those who feel they can separate the Wizarding World from JKR.
- The thousands of others who have put work into the films, games, art, and all other aspects of the franchise, many of whom have denounced JKR's views.

And as many on social media have pointed out; the cancel crowd have been laser-focused on Hogwarts Legacy for one reason; it's easy. They could protest the ticket sales at Universal and other merchandise, or put their time towards promoting trans-supporting charities.

But that would require them to get up from their keyboards, and/or putting their money where their mouth is.

They harass and bully players of Hogwarts Legacy because it makes them feel better about themselves without doing something of actual substance.

5713370
Which is wrong, and as someone who does feel they can separate the Wizarding World from Rowling's beliefs, I do not agree with their thought processes. So I can agree with you on that
