Sorry about poofing like I did for a bit, folks. Was dealing with a bit of writer's block regarding Entry 13. At the same time, I found myself inadvertently planning out one of the future story arcs. The plan itself is pretty vivid inside my head now. That's beside the point however. Entry 13, and the end of the first arc has been finished, and will be posted at some point this week, pending final review. At present, the chapter comes out at just under 6.8k words.
That said, I've got a question for you readers. What sorts of things would you be interested in seeing in the story? Should Anon get to meet Queen Bugmom and show her some (un?)deserved kindness? Should she create a means to store runic spells for re-use? Does she get to meet Ebony and Ivory's Mom and help decide their punishments?
What kind of 'adventures' do you think she should get to experience?
Can we get all of the above?
Honestly it’s hard to say what I’d want to see as often my vision and an authors are similar but diferent. Would love to see her grow closer to the ponies in her life.
I think Ebony and Ivory could work as recurring characters. Maybe Anon could run into them again after their punishment passes, or spot them out in the streets up to no good once in a while. Watch as they try to pull a scam or get whacked by an angry mother with a newspaper after a rude, tribalist comment? Have them retreat at the sight of her amd explore how that makes Anon feel? How it makes those around her feel? Then again, I'm not exactly a writer and it's been a while since I read through the chapters you've already posted.
As for buggo... good question. Depends on how you want to portray her. My mind immediately hops to not approaching Anon at all, and at most sending an underling to get a brief measure of her. She could accidentally get dragged along for a ride after a plan gets botched, have a short chat before the getaway arrives? Buggo probably wouldn't take a filly quote unquote talking down to her all that well. I rarely include buggo in the little stories I make up in my head to pass the time at night, so I really have no idea.
Anon could try experimenting with how one can carry around a spell, explore the flaws of each method and what works best for different spells? I imagine that scrolls would be too fragile to be used more than once, and gems would be very potent and resuable but too hard to work with to be practical. Something like thin stone disks or fire clay could work as a happy, cheap compromise between the two. Hah, "Taste my brick of fire! Yeet!"
Just throwing in some thoughts about the things you listed. I lack creativity, unfortunately. And it's also about time for me to go to sleep.

How about cardboard discs the size of a hoof as a medium? Small, compact, sturdy, easy to write on, very portable, and easy enough to transport in a container.
