Writing a little more every day! Plus, got caught up on some reading I missed.
Also, I published a story today. I do want to apologize for not working on stories I’ve already published that are incomplete. There’s a weird mental block I’m having about them that I’m trying to get over. So in the mean time you get some short ones for contests.
Today’s story is Sunset’s Motorcycle written for Sunset Shimmer X Villains Unseen Contest. I’m not, like, an active part of this Sunset/Villains group but I stumbled upon the contest via a new group Hall of Contests. I really like contests, and have been sad I keep missing them, so I was very excited to follow this group and try to write for as many that pop up as I can!
Sunset’s Motorcycle is about Sunset Shimmer and Gilda. It was hard to think of a villain not in the EQG canon to ship her with but I like what I managed to turn out. It’s a different type of story than I usually write; really short, quick romance, not a Pinkie in sight. But it was good! Fingers cross it can at least place. I’ve never gotten above third place in a contest so I’m shooting for second!
I also wrote Delayed Shuffle for a contest. (Which I didn’t notice expanded another month, oops). And that was interesting too! A Halloween story with an OC? That’s also not my usual jam. I think that one turned out really great though and I even custom made some cover art for it.
The Species Change contest has also turned out to be an interesting challenge. I honestly think the character’s species influences a ton of how I think about them as a character so trying to write the same character as a different species has been tricky. Plus, I just really like ponies. So Discord is a pony in my story, little sneak peek for you.
And then finally, The M/M Shipping Contest. I was gonna do something weird for this one and ship, like, Flim/Blueblood. But then I was like, I should take a break from weird, and now I’m cracking out a Spike/Thorax fic!
If you read this far, wow, and I hope you also participate in some contests! (Or don’t so I can win them all. Muhahaha).
Writing Tip: Have someone you can be accountable to. It will make you excited to write more and dreading writing less. A great motivator.
Okay, that’s all, love you, bye!

Yeah, someone who’ll get sad if you don’t write every day that isn’t yourself
